Another type of goodbye that came to mind while listening to this episode was something that I did not grow up with in my family of origin, but has become somewhat of a tradition in our family. And that is to write someone a letter or even a note when there is some very important part of life about to happen or some new step about to be taken, say a high school graduation or a college graduation, or even the night before the wedding of a child. That has been a very special way to mark again an important moment, and it seems to be a type of goodbye. And that's why it came to mind while listening to this conversation.
