Hey, hey, hey and welcome back. Quick question for you Do you feel like, no matter how much you're doing, you're just running on empty, like you've got no gas left in the tank, running on fumes? And if that's, you, buckle up, because today we're talking about five signs that your energy is tapped out and, more importantly, how to recharge. So grab a cup of coffee or that green tea or heck, just collapse on the couch with me for this one, because we're diving in. I'm Melissa Hinman, your menopause health coach and energy wrangler for busy perimenopausal women. I'm all about helping you make small, realistic changes that fit into your busy life without adding any extra insanity. And hey, if you stick around until the end, I'll tell you about a free tool that will totally help track and tweak your energy. Sound good? Alright, cool beans, let's go. So first we need to recognize the signs. So let's talk about those signs that you're running on empty. And here's what to look for.
Speaker 1One brain fog. You walk into a room and wait. What were you doing here? What did I come in here for? Let me backtrack my steps and hope I remember. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but been there.
Speaker 1Number two mood swings One minute you're laughing. The next you're crying over a commercial about puppies. That brings me back to when I was pregnant and like what the heck? Or someone says something that completely throws you off track. And you've gone through from like loving the day to why the heck would they say that, why would they think that, why would they feel that? And then you're questioning everything.
Speaker 1Three low patience Again. If your kids or your partner or someone's asking you like what's for dinner, or you make a dinner for your kids this happens to me all the time you make a dinner for your kids that they literally liked last week and then they look at it and they're like yeah, I'm not feeling that tonight. Yeah, we've got a problem. Four physical fatigue. No matter how much you sleep, it's like you just can't catch up. And five cravings Hello, salty chips at 10 pm or chocolate or anything that makes you feel like it gives you a quick boost, not even just at 10 pm, I'm talking at like one o'clock in the afternoon and then it just drops you like a bad date. If any of these sound familiar, it's time to pump the brakes and figure out what's really going on. And spoiler alert this isn't about doing more, it's about doing smarter. So let's talk about how we can start refilling that tank.
Speaker 1Here are three small but mighty changes that you can make. Number one hydrate. Like the boss you are, start your day with a little glass of water and I'm not saying you have to love it, but your body will thank you because you go the whole night sleeping, breathing, exhaling, sweating, peeing, and you're getting rid of this fluid, the water in your body. You need to rehydrate first thing in the morning. Number two move your body. This doesn't mean running a marathon or even a half marathon, but dance in the kitchen when you're getting ready in the morning, stretch while you're watching TV, go out for a walk, just stretch in your bed before you put your feet on the floor whatever gets you moving, intentional, being intentional about it.
Speaker 1Number three protein. Protein is power and a high-protein snack to your day, like a Greek yogurt, a handful of nuts or even a boiled egg, which is easy peasy and it can make a big difference because that will make you feel fuller longer and it won't give you the like 30-minute crash after you've had it, like when you're grabbing a bag of chips or a pack of M&Ms. But here's the thing it's hard to know what's actually draining your energy if you're not tracking it, and that's where my free energy tune-up tracker comes in. This tracker is your new BFF for figuring out where your energy's going and how to get it back. It's free, it's easy to use and it's not going to make you feel guilty or overwhelmed. I promise. Head to melissahinmancom forward, slash, tune up that's T-U-N-E-U-P and grab it. I'll even pop it in the show notes and I'll pop into your inbox with tips and encouragement so you're not doing this alone. Does that sound good? All right, my friend, you got this and we'll see you in the next episode.
