12. How to Have a Balanced Diet Without Obsessing with Anita Mirchandani, Registered Dietitian

Danilae Smith Episode 12

If you've ever felt a little lost when it comes to your diet, this episode is for you. Today's guest, Anita Mirchandani is a registered dietician based in NY., and she has a way of making nutrition feel much … easier to digest (see what I did there?).

After struggling with her weight as a teenager, Anita went down the path to become a dietician to help others feel empowered with their diet. She takes an integrative approach and really focuses on breaking down the science in a way that I appreciate.

I've always been a little bit confused about the difference between a dietician and a nutritionist. So, she cleared that right up for us. We'll also hear a bit about what led Anita down the path to helping others feel empowered with their diet.

And of course, you know I've got you with the trending topics including:
intermittent fasting
protein intake
hormone imbalances, and more.

Let's also take a moment to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Appreciation Month! For each episode in the month of May, I'm kicking us off by shining a light on AAPI-founded wellness brands. This week, I'm giving a big shoutout to Shaz & Kiks. Their Ayurvedic haircare is beautifully done!

In this episode, we're chatting about:

  • What it's like working with a dietician
  •  The importance of sleep to your overall health
  • Things to consider when considering intermittent fasting
  • How can we work more protein into our diet?
  • Anita's take on Ozempic
  • When should you get your hormones tested?
  • What is insulin resistance?
