Is that a weird thing to say as an intro to an episode? No. Okay, cool. You guys are my people, but yeah, money, money, money, money, money. I have had a. Long road with my, let's call it relationship with money, especially, you know, building a business there. There's a lot of shit that comes up to the surface around money throughout the years. And you realize, wow, there's so much that I have not learned. And a lot of it is self education. A lot of it is of course, mentorship. A lot of it is just experience. And actually witnessing and feeling the magic of money and changing your relationship with money and understanding the limiting beliefs with money and oh my goodness, like there's just so much to unpack and I wanted to devote this episode to five key mindset shifts that I needed to make around money so that I could build my six figure business because if you have a money mindset that is so limiting, you will never build a six figure business. Hello? Like it gets in the way. If you don't believe you can make money, first of all, Limiting belief. Number one. You can't believe it. Then how in the world would you ever even make money? you're limiting beliefs. Stop you. They're like these roadblocks That will never allow you to pass unless You deal with them You work through it. You journal. You meditate. You reframe. You challenge. You do all the things to understand and realize, okay, this isn't serving me anymore. We don't like this. Maybe this is why I haven't been able to make money in my business and I've been doing this for however long. Maybe it's time to give this up. Trade it in for another one. So that's what I'm hoping I can do for you guys today. I know there's again so much that has to do with money and I have so many other episodes on it I can link them below and I'm sure there's gonna be so many more episodes on money but I wanted to at least just narrow it down to these top five to really really help you. So This is for my early and aspiring coaches and business owners out there. You don't need to be a coach, but let's just say you're an entrepreneur, right? And you want to make money. When it comes to entrepreneurship, making money is always the goal, right? But many of us, we struggle to one, make a dollar because again, you might have beliefs in the way, but two, consistently generate income. Like, okay, I'm making money and I made, I don't know, some money off of one client, two clients or one sale or this sale. Awesome. And that's cute. That's cute. But to hold. space for the consistency of income, meaning we don't stop. We continue to get clients. We continue to make sales and we build and we build and we build and we continue to rise up and we continue to work on our limiting beliefs as they appear, because you all know, new level, new devil, right? The work doesn't stop. These mindset shifts will address one, let's get some sales in. If you have a problem just bringing in sales and two, maybe you are making sales, but you don't see the consistency. You have a really high month. You have a really low month. You're like, Whoa, this is a roller coaster, right? I can help with that as well. It's all about having the right mindset. Now your money mindset is invaluable. It is the number one thing you need to be successful in your business. Your money mindset is the number one thing you need to be successful in your business because it can help you create a strategy For financial success long term because it includes budgeting, saving, dreaming, brainstorming, attracting new streams of income, it's all about building and more from a very healthy, positive, optimistic place, from a place of want. Versus lack, oh shit, I'm going to lose my money, scarcity, fear. That's not where we're trying to work from, Because a negative mindset around money can absolutely keep you stuck in, I don't know, cycles of debt or limited growth or plateau or staying stagnant for years and years and years, a lot of people who make money are actually so afraid of losing the money. So even if you have a lot of money and business is booming, we don't know where they're operating from. Are they actually operating from a place of abundance or are they operating from a place of fear and lack and scarcity and like, Oh no, what happens when my business goes to shit and I lose money? Okay. The good news is that you can constantly work on your money mindset. It's always something that can work for you. We can actively work on it and we can actively shift our thought patterns and you get stronger and stronger and stronger, but you need to focus. You need to make it a priority to focus on your relationship with money and develop healthy habits on how you maintain that money going back to the budgeting and the saving and things like that. Cool. Okay. So let's dive into number one. The number one money mindset shift that you need is you have to believe that you can even make money in the first place. One of the biggest things that I see with my clients is that they struggle to even believe they can make money from building their own business. If you have limiting beliefs again around money, how in the world are you going to actually make money? So if you're not making money and it's been however long, it's not about the continuous masculine, like sell, sell, sell and consultation calls and strategy and marketing and DMS. And no, it's about you. You are quite literally getting in the way. So you need to take a step back and you need to work on your money mindset first, then go back into your business. Remember your business is a reflection of you. If your business is not thriving, that means you are not thriving. So you have to continue doing money mindset work. Okay. I had to learn this when I first started because I, if you guys don't know my story, I I started on Instagram with more of like the brand partnerships and influencer world. And I had made 50 for my first Instagram story. That was my first brand partnership. They wanted me to push a song by Calvin Harris. And I was like, cool, done. And when I made that 50, you guys, I was like, oh my gosh. Like this is possible. And that is all I needed. All I needed was the 50 to allow the floodgates in my mind to open to the possibility of making money online through my social media. That was it. That's all I needed. And the belief was there before I got the 50. What did I have to rely on? One, blind faith, just knowing and feeling that it's got to be possible, and that feeling and that certainty, even though I hadn't experienced it on an individual level, it came from seeing other people win. And having friends and acquaintances and following bloggers where they were making money and their stories of, yeah, I left my job, I do this full time and yeah, this brand paid me thousands of dollars for a 30 second video and right, like getting into that world. I was like, okay, if they can do it, I can do it, So that was the biggest thing I needed early on in my career was the belief that it's even possible. And again, if you haven't made one dollar from your business, there are other people out there making money from their business. So use that as your proof, as your evidence, maybe it's not even blind faith anymore because it's like, hello. All of these examples are around you. Let their success inspire you to what's possible. Other things that help you stay in that belief is of course, please be mindful of who you're hanging out with. If there's someone that doesn't believe that you can make money online, that you can build a business and be financially successful, please distance yourself from them. Boundary it up. If it's family and you can't just cut them out of your life, totally understand that, but distance is a real thing. Let's limit the amount of interactions we have with them. Because their negativity and their fear and their limiting beliefs are put onto you. And then you start second guessing and you start self doubting. It's not good for you. It's not helpful. So surround yourself with other entrepreneurs. Hire a mentor, hire a coach that's five steps ahead of you. They've clearly done it or are doing something that you want to do. So let's speed up time. Let's hire, let's invest so that they can tell you, okay, do this, do this, do this. Call you out when a belief comes up that is hindering you. We gotta think about our environment and the people in that. How are they helping or how are they not helping? And then make decisions accordingly. I would continue reading books. I would continue watching YouTube videos. I would continue learning and soaking everything up as if you were a sponge to continuously prove to your mind, people are doing this. People are winning. People are making money. People are building online successful businesses. The belief is there because it is happening. You can use their proof and their evidence and their results to just prove to your brain this is possible for me. Another way are affirmations. so think more of like the self talk, the inner critic, the voice in your head. If more of your thoughts are rooted in possibility, like I'm wealthy, I attract money with ease. Money flows to me easily and often. If that's your thought pattern, you open up the doors to have people come to you, law of attraction, baby. But in your head, if it's like, Oh, it's so hard to make money. I'm poor. I'm broke. This would never work. Those thoughts are not doing you a favor. They are not attracting in abundance and people and opportunities that are on the same wavelength. So you have to be very, very careful with what type of thoughts you allow to sink into your mind and which thoughts you hold on to. Remember, thoughts are like clouds in the sky. If a thought comes up because we're human and we can't control our first thought, the first thought is, fuck, making money is hard. Challenge it right then and there. It's like, ooh, that doesn't make me feel good. That doesn't make me feel motivated. That doesn't make me feel inspired. That doesn't make me feel like I want to take action now. So the feeling attached to that thought is shitty. So what do we do? We let that thought float by like a cloud and we can control the second thought. So the second thought is going to be replaced or the first thought will be replaced with the second one. Something simple like money is really easy. Money. to make and flows to me easily and often. Now, how does that feel? So much better. So let's hang on to that thought and then we move on. Cool. Cool. So we got to believe that it's possible. Number two, focus on value and impact, not money. I know this one kind of shocks people. It sounds backwards. It's like, well, we're talking about money. We're talking about money mindset. You just said all businesses need money, but I'm not focusing on money. Correct. Here's why. When you do something you love, when you do something you're so uber passionate about, when you do something that feels easy and effortless to you, You want to do more of it just because of the feeling attached to it. Just because of the love you have for it. You're not focusing on, Oh my gosh, I have to make 200 from this sale. Oh my gosh. I'm, I'm launching an ebook. I have to make 2000. Oh my gosh. I'm launching a podcast. What the fuck? You don't make money in the beginning. I'm not doing that. You have to focus on the bigger picture here, which is what are people gaining from me doing what I love and offering my business services? What's the value here and what's the impact? So, for example, real story from my experience, When I was so focused on money and that was my North Star, I was not successful in my business. This was again, before coaching, this was in those influencer brand partnership years. Yes. Years. And I was so focused on money. It was very fear driven. It was very fear driven. insecure. It was very like, oh shit. Vanity metrics, post numbers matter. Took everything personal. Inner critic was loud, money was never enough. Never showed gratitude for the money I did make like the 50. And so I had to work through that. And when I leaned into coaching, a fire lit. I was like, whoa. I love this. And it wasn't because the money, because I didn't make any money in coaching at the beginning. I had a 600 program for six weeks. I signed 10 clients. Yes, that was 6, 000. It was amazing. But could I leave my full time tech job from that? No, but when I made that and tasted that for the first time, it wasn't the money that I was drawn to. It was the feeling of coaching. It was the impact with coaching. It was seeing, like, the wheels turning in their heads when they had an aha moment, or when we called out a limiting belief, or when I challenged them on a certain thought pattern. That was what I loved. And so now I realize money, I realize money is just a byproduct of the activity that I'm doing and the impact that I'm having. I'm on this podcast here. It's been almost a year since I've launched it, which is wild. And it's so much work. Every week we're producing an episode. Every week I have a script. Every week I'm coming up with titles. Every week I'm thinking, what does my audience need to hear? Every week we're launching it. Every week we have videos. Every week, right? Like there's work, but I love it. And so it doesn't feel like work, but also there is no money being made from this. It's not like every podcast episode I launch and I, and I release, I'm making hundreds of dollars, thousands of dollars. No, this is for free, but it's part of the business. It's part of the value. It's part of the impact that I get to provide. And I have to believe that someone will listen to my podcast. Someone will resonate with an episode over time. Maybe then they love my Instagram account or whatever it is. And eventually they want to work with me when it's the right timing for them. And so then I am making money from the podcast, but in a different way, you have to think of the invisible ROI. So you have to focus on the value, what am I giving to my clients? So how am I serving them? Knowing money is a by product of that, but money is not the focus. It's not the North star. And what's really powerful about this. is it takes you out of the equation. So if I was only focused on my money, my results, my podcast downloads, me, me, me, me, me, my business wouldn't be successful. I'm focusing on the wrong person. But when I think bigger and I think, okay, what does Katie need to hear? What does Sarah need to hear? How does. My client, Nicole, how is she doing in her business? Let's check in on her. I, I had a client in Qatar, Doha, Qatar, and we met every week. And from Florida where I'm located to Qatar. I am impacting her and her friends, her community with my podcast because they listen to it. She shares it with me. She's like, Oh my gosh, they love it. They love this episode, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You know, kind of like a book club. They have a podcast club. How cool is that? Where they reflect on podcast episodes. So it's like, if this thing is bigger than me, this is not about Katya anymore. This is about the change and the impact that I get to make on a global level. Like what? That's insane. That is the focus. That is the value. And then it keeps you coming back, right? Because it's like I, I'm focusing on a bigger you know, a bigger pull, a bigger impact than just what can I get out of it? Cool. That's all I'll say. Number three. Embrace failure. This one was hard for me to even title it that way. Cause I don't even like the word failure. If you guys know me and I've been listening to the podcast for a while or worked with me, I don't like that word, but just we're all familiar with the word and a lot of us do fear it, so I do need to address it. But failure is just, it's a necessary part. Of the entrepreneurial journey. Like, like there's no way around it. You guys, you can't go over it. You can't go under it. Like you have to go through it. You have to feel failure. You have to feel the pain so that you just keep going and keep making progress. I mean, everyone I'm thinking millionaires, billionaires, like everyone is always talking about the failures, the learning process. It's a setback, but it doesn't have to paralyze you. And it doesn't have to define you. You don't have to make it mean something about you. It's just like, Ooh, I tried it. Didn't work next. So I think a good reframe for you, and this is how I reframed it is actually, you know, failure doesn't exist. It just doesn't exist. I actually don't even use it in my vocabulary. That's why it was hard to title this one, you know, Embrace Failure, because I don't even like to use the word. But if it comes up, and again for the purpose of an example, failure does not exist. The reason why is because there are only two options when you try something. One, you win. You try something and it worked. Awesome. You just won. But if you try something and it didn't work, it's not a failure. You just learn. So you know the phrase win or lose? Cut out the word lose and put win or learn. That is so powerful, you guys. I remember like, that was like an epiphany when I was going down this route of coaching. I was like, whoa, there is no possibility to fail. It's just win or learn. If I have to address failing, the only way I fail, which is a scary thought to fail, the only way I fail is if I quit. That's it. That's my reframe. That's how I redefine failing, is if I quit. And it's so powerful because now. That accountability actually empowers me. It's like, Oh, well, it's not like, you know, someone else will get in the way or I don't know, a disaster or doomsday scenario that we have in our head, like, you know, anyone else kind of getting in the way actually doesn't impact me because it's only if I quit, regardless of what happens, if I just keep going. I'm successful. So I really, really hope that helps. It's not about win or losing. It's about win or learn. And failure doesn't exist. Because the only way I feel is if I quit. And I will never quit. Cool. So embrace the learning is what you should say. Try shit. Put yourself out there. Do the thing. Make the call. Post the post. Just do it. And then, learn. What worked? What didn't work? What did we like? What did we not like? This is even true with jobs. I have so many clients who came to me, they're like, I'm stuck in my job. I've been here for 10 plus years. I hate it. And blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's like, okay, cool. Let's go get another job. Oh, I can't because this excuse and this excuse and this excuse. It's like, well, what's the worst case. You leave your job, you go get another job, and then you learn if you like that job or you don't like that job. You learn if you like that job or you don't like that job, and if you don't like that job, go get another job or start your own or, right? We've got options here. Next one. Think big. So there's a quote I don't remember who it's from, but I'll paraphrase. To make your present better, you have to make your future bigger. I'll say it again. In order to make your present better, you have to make your future bigger. So, if you feel like you are just going through the motions and this mundane day to day routine and you don't really know what you're doing all this for and you're just living to be a pay bills and go see the same friends and follow the same routines and your life just feels blah. Well, then my friend, you need to create a vision for your life. You need to think about the future. You need to think about the North Star. You need to dream. Again, you need to imagine what your dream life would be like, because when you can create a vision for your life and understand everything you're doing, what is it even leading towards? What is it going to? You draw in energy from that imagined vision into your present day. How wild is that? You have to think big. to be inspired and motivated and energized and hungry, right? This lust for life again, because it's like, Whoa, I could have that. I could do that. Sign me up. And it makes you that much more excited today To then take the action necessary to actually go make it happen, make that vision become real. That's life. And then again, your business is a part of that. And you need to have that vision because it motivates you, it inspires you, which is absolutely crucial in achieving financial success. If I made six figures, and I was like, that's it, that's my cap, that's my glass ceiling, I probably wouldn't be that excited anymore in my day to day because now it just feels like a job. But if I imagine and envision, okay, 500k. Okay. A million. Okay. A billion. Well, now we're excited. And now we can actually make more money because we're thinking on a much larger scale. So you have to make time to dream, which is visualization. Which is honestly just daydreaming. I daydream now, right? I'm constantly dreaming and manifesting. We all are, but in the direction that I want to go. So let me just make this clear before we move on to the last one. Let's say you don't have a vision. And your future thought is, or your thoughts about the future and, you know, whatever, 10 years from now is like gloomy. It's not exciting. Let's say, I don't know, you're at some corporate job and you're climbing the ladder and in 10 years you could make partner, you could be C level, you could, whatever. I don't know. I'm making this up. And that, that thought. Of where you'll be in 10 years is actually really uninspiring to you. Like, just be honest with yourself. Whatever feeling first pops up as I paint that picture for you. If it's like, Oh shit, I don't want that. Ooh, would I be happy? Does that make me happy? Do I want that in 10 years? Any kind of questioning and confusion like that is a big sign. And so imagine that's your, that's your future. What kind of energy are we bringing into our present day? I don't think you're very motivated or inspired to do shit to change it, right? You probably feel very like lazy, tired, afraid, negative, fearful. You're drawing an energy from that fake scenario, that imagined scenario into your today, your present moment. But on the other hand, your vision for 10 years from now is a life of abundance. We're talking financial. We're talking wealth. We're talking relationships. We're talking time. We're traveling the globe as we please in first class. We've got our house. We've got. Days where we host, we've got family and friends that we love and that we cherish and that support us and we support them and just like dream. How does that make us feel right now in the moment? Just me saying that? Oh my God, I feel fucking fantastic. I'm like, yes, that sounds awesome. I want that. And so now today, currently in my body, I feel already the effects of that. I feel excited. I feel hopeful. I feel inspired. I feel like let's take some action. Let's, let's call that friend. Let's host this. Let's coordinate that. Let's book that trip. Let's hire that coach. Let's join that program. Let's, let's do shit to make it happen. That is the power of thinking big and, and living in that dreamland. Because remember only dreamland until it becomes reality. It's a temporary thing. Okay, cool. Hopefully you guys feel also that energy a little bit as I talked through that. Last one, most important one, invest in yourself. I really hope this one does not surprise you. Bye. But I know from my experience now, gosh, I think with side hustle days and tech days and influencer days and coaching days and all my days, I can honestly say every successful business owner that I have met understands the crucial importance of investing in themselves. Every single one. When you invest in yourself, you are taking a proactive approach to your personal think life and mindset and professional development. So yes, this can look something simpler and easy, like pick up a book, read whatever topic you're trying to study. Take a course. Go to a conference, go to a retreat, invest in yourself. I'm not doing it for my family. I'm not doing it for my friends. I'm not doing it for anyone. I am going to this conference to learn for me. I'm reading a book to learn for me. I'm taking a course or a program to learn for me. Knowing the byproduct of that investment in myself actually helps my friends, my family, my loved ones, because they get to benefit from what I learn and this new version that I get to create. No one likes a watered down version, no one likes the, the, the vacuums. where they gossip and they complain and they're negative and they're fearful. But if I'm working on myself and I get to bring value to the table and I get to be a battery for people because I lift them up and I give them energy and I motivate them and I remind them how it's possible for whatever they want, do they benefit from that exchange? Abso fucking lutely. So I invest in myself, others get to benefit. Hiring a coach, joining a program. All of that. helps you identify and refine the skills and knowledge necessary for leading people in your world. Again, if you're an early and aspiring coach, if you are a business owner and you're trying to make sales, you have to invest in yourself to move the needle forward. I invested in myself Oh, I don't know, 10 plus times by now. First was a life coach, 900 for a three month program. Changed my life because of a few reframes that she offered me. That was it. That's what I got. Life changing. I invested into a business coach. The most money I've ever invested into a coach. Was it worth it? Every penny. Because then I had the knowledge and I had the skills. I had the belief, I had the courage, I had the confidence to actually do what it takes to build the six figure business that I had always dreamed of. I hired another coach, learned how to launch a group program, learned podcast. I'm literally sitting here today because of that investment. Invest in yourself. It is never a waste of money. It is never a reduction in spend. It is never a loss. It is always a gain. You will always learn something, whether it's like a tactical skill or a strategy approach or just about yourself. What's your thought pattern? What's your limiting belief? What's the story you're telling yourself? You only learn, you only grow, you only expand. So. That's what I got for you this week. If anything about this podcast resonated with you, please do me a favor and take a screenshot and post on your stories and tag me at katia. lillian. I would love to connect with you. So thank you in advance and I appreciate you until next time.
