The Synapse Season 3 Episode 39 - FAST-ED vs NIHSS...How Do We Bridge The Gap?

The FAST-ED score is a modified stroke scale combining elements of the NIHSS and other simplified stroke scales used to evaluate for LVO in the front 2/3rd of the brain. NIHSS is a very detailed stroke assessment to identify severity. However, both have their pros and cons. In this episode I am examining both of these, their utility in various settings, and proposing a change to the FAST-ED to make it more encompassing for the rear 1/3 of the brain.
