Recently I was asked "If you could create and work at the perfect critical care transport system, with whatever resources and support you needed, what would it look like?"
This podcast episode stems from 20 years of experience in volunteer, paid, union, municipal, hospital-based, flight, ground, and military medicine programs. Seeing what works, what doesn't, how human performance and mentality changes dynamics, how lack of support from management hinders progress. This episode is a "day-in-the-life-of" view of my perfect ground critical care program, and the reasoning behind why I advocate for the things I do.
To those who have yet to find their true "place" in this profession, this episode is a reminder to keep fighting for what you are looking for. It exists out there...and if it doesn't yet, we just need to find the right door to open and make it happen with others who are like-minded at our side.
