Ok...I get it. We were and still are often told that Calcium's role in the treatment of hyperkalemia is to "stabilize the cell membrane walls." In the most simplistic of explanations, this is still not entirely correct. This episode brings actual science, recent evidence-based study, and basic reasoning into the mix to explain what Calcium is ACTUALLY doing in hyperkalemia.
