Your Career Journey

Taking control and finding purpose. With Rhiannon Di Martino

Emma Graham

In this episode, I’m joined by Rhiannon Di Martino, who has had a really unique career path covering Marketing, People and Culture, Diversity and Inclusion and is currently working as the chief of staff to the CEO of a mental health charity.

The broader themes for Rhi are around taking control of her career and finding purpose in what she did, but how did she go about doing that?

Rhi has sought out and taken on a succession of roles she’s never done before, she’s very much been the driver in her own career. Breaking this down she talks about the importance of curiosity, the value of having advocates within the business and the type of culture which supported her growth to try new things.

Over time wanting to define and find purpose in her work became a key part of the puzzle, Rhi talks through her thought process and how she was able to clarify what it meant to her.

Rhi also talks openly about imposter syndrome and how she was able to deal with it, learning how to embrace vulnerability and the importance of knowing what she's aiming for.

Rhi’s career journey is a fantastic example of what can happen when you take control, map out your path and make it happen!
