Everyday Warriors Moments
Exclusive access to premium content!Work can give you purpose, mateship, confidence and financial freedom, then turn around and test every part of your patience in the same week. I’m taking a quieter moment to talk honestly about what it takes to survive the workplace without shrinking yourself, abandoning your values or carrying the stress home to the people you love.
We get into the messy middle ground where most of us actually live: the difference between everyday conflict and behaviour that crosses a line. Not every awkward interaction is bullying and not every boss you dislike is toxic, but repeated undermining, exclusion, gossip and disrespect aren’t “just part of work” either. I share what I’ve learned about naming problems accurately, protecting your sense of self and staying grounded when you’re tempted to doubt your own standards.
Leadership comes up too, because stepping into responsibility can change relationships fast. When you’re the one holding the standard, you can become unpopular simply for doing the job properly. We talk about integrity, accountability and respect, why they look easy on a poster and why they can feel lonely in real life, especially when someone says you’re “too much” or “making a big deal out of it”.
We also talk about “colleague service”, the idea that if someone can be lovely to a customer, they can offer basic decency to the people they work beside for eight hours a day. And we finish with practical nervous system and work-life balance resets so your workday doesn’t keep running in your head at 2am: small transition rituals, clearer boundaries and a kinder handover from work you to home you. If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show.
