Discomfort is often the doorway to courage. In this EMBR Mornings reflection, Kimberly Hoyt shares how a leap into the unknown—both in life and in skydiving—teaches us that courage grows when we remove the option to retreat.
If you’ve been circling a decision, waiting for the “right” moment, today’s episode will remind you that clarity and joy come after the leap, not before it. This 5-minute pause invites you to sip your coffee, breathe deeply, and ask yourself: What leap is waiting for my yes?
EMBR Mornings is a daily soul-centered ritual to return to who you truly are — grounded, beloved, and on purpose. Each short reflection helps you rise with peace, intention, and faith — not hustle.
✨ Today’s takeaway: Discomfort is not your enemy — it’s your training ground.

Have you ever stood at the edge of something new, heart pounding, wondering if you're ready, and then realizing the only way to know is to step. Welcome to EMBR Mornings, your pause for presence and purpose. This month's ember is emerge more bold and rise. And again, we're leaning into courage over comfort this week. Today's mantra Discomfort is my training ground. A few years ago, I went skydiving with a few friends, and there we were in the plane, strapped to these instructors, complete strangers that we were trusting with our lives. And as the door opened and the wind rushed in. My heart began racing. There was a part of me who wanted to stay seated to stay in the plane, But the truth was, despite that fear, I couldn't wait to feel the rush. And honestly, you didn't really have an option. When it was my turn, he moved me to the edge, right? Like he just picked me up and moved me. And there we were at the edge of the plane and we just. Leaned forward and fell into the sky, and it was exhilarating. For me, there was only a smidgen of fear for a second, and then this huge smile on my face. The wind's rushing in your face, and there's this moment where you're in panic. And then it shifts to pure joy and exhilaration. It was all there in a single moment of surrendering and just going for it. That jump reminded me that sometimes courage comes when you remove the option to retreat. I want you to think about this. When you commit to that leap, comfort loses its grip and courage carries you the rest of the way. The discomfort that you resist today could be the doorway to your next level. What's one leap that you've been circling around waiting for the right moment? What would it look like to commit fully, to remove the option of turning back and go for it? Let's EMBR the day ahead with bold, wholehearted courage and the joy that's waiting on the other side of your leap. See you tomorrow.
