The first rep is always the hardest — whether it’s lifting weights or lifting yourself into a braver way of living. In today’s EMBR Mornings reflection, Kimberly shares why courage grows with use, and how small daily choices can build lasting confidence and clarity.
Instead of waiting for one big leap, courage is strengthened through repetition: speaking the truth, raising your hand, taking a step you’ve been resisting. Over time, those shaky knees give way to a steady heart.
✨ Key benefit: You’ll leave today’s pause reminded that courage isn’t a one-time achievement — it’s a practice that makes you stronger, steadier, and more aligned with your purpose.
At EMBR Mornings, we believe every woman carries an ember within her. Through short, soulful reflections, we help you begin your day with peace, presence, and God-centered clarity.

The first rep is always the hardest. Whether you're lifting weights or lifting yourself into a braver way of living. Welcome to EMBR Mornings, your pause for presence and purpose. We are continuing to talk about choosing courage over comfort. Today's mantra is, my courage grows with use. After skydiving. Like we talked about yesterday, I thought I had unlocked courage for good. But courage doesn't work like a one-time achievement. It's more like a muscle that needs regular training. Every time you choose the uncomfortable truth over the easy silence, speaking up in a meeting or taking that leap that you've been resisting, you're adding another rep to your courage. And just like muscles, it's repetition that changes you. The first few times you might feel shaky, even exhausted, but over time, what once made your knees shaky, will barely raise your heart rate. Courage isn't built in a single leap. It's strengthened in the daily choice to step forward. What's one small rep of courage you could choose to practice today? Something you could repeat until it becomes second nature. Alright, everyone come back Tomorrow we'll talk about how to spot the places where you've been avoiding courage without realizing it. Let's EMBR the day ahead with steady practice boldness. I'll see you tomorrow.
