Dr. Angie McCartney

Angela Lucia McCartney was born in Liverpool UK in November of 1929. She married her first husband Eddie in 1956 and daughter Ruth was born in February 1960. Sadly, Angie was widowed in '62, and in '64, her old friends Mike and Bette introduced her to their Uncle Jim McCartney.
They married in November and spent 12 loving years together, with Angie and Ruth at his side when he passed over to the great tea dance in the sky in March of 1976.
Angie's life has always revolved around tea, from surviving WW2, to celebrating the announcements of #1 chart hits with friend and frequent house-guest John Lennon over breakfast at Rembrandt, the Liverpool home in the 60's. Today, she's as feisty as ever.

Al Sussman

A member of the generation transformed by the ‘60s Big Bang of The Beatles’ appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, Al Sussman has been writing about The Beatles, music and pop culture since the fall of 1968, first as a town newspaper columnist and then via a “Collectors’ Q&A” column in Sounds Fine in the mid-‘70s. In 1979, he became a contributor to the fledgling Beatlefan Magazine, first as New York correspondent and as Executive Editor since the early ‘80s. Sort of a jack-of-all-trades for the magazine, he’s contributed news stories, commentaries and, in more recent years, historical perspectives. That led to his first book, Changin’ Times: 101 Days That Shaped a Generation, a look at the transformative period from Nov. 22, 1963 through March 1, 1964, available as an ebook at Amazon.

Jay Bergen

For 40 years, wherever he moved, from the New York metropolitan area to his current home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Jay Bergen FCRH ’59, LAW ’62, took six heavy banker’s boxes with him, transferring them from one garage or attic to another, where they continued to gather dust. “I always kept them with me, but I didn’t open them until five years ago,” said Bergen. When he did, he couldn’t help but sit down on one of those boxes and lose himself in the reams of depositions and the trial and appeal records of a case he considers the highlight of his wide-ranging legal career: the two-year lawsuit he handled for John Lennon in 1975 and 1976 against Mafia-connected record company executive Morris Levy.

Laurie Kaye

On December 8, 1980, while working for RKO Radio, twenty-something rock journalist Laurie Kaye co-conducted an interview with her longtime idol, John Lennon. It was to become Lennon's final interview on what tragically turned out to be his last day on the planet.

That evening, John Lennon was gunned down by a man Laurie Kaye had encountered just hours before. Lennon's 25-year-old assassin (whom Kaye refuses to refer to by name) had blocked Kaye's path outside the Dakota, harassing her with questions right after the interview such as, “Did you talk to him?” and “Did you get his autograph?", and in the following years, Laurie Kaye has continued to beat herself up over her failure to recognize that this creep had posed a danger and should have been reported.

May Pang

She was just a kid growing up in Spanish Harlem in the 1960s, the American-born daughter of Chinese immigrants who went to Catholic school, hated studying and fell in love with all things rock & roll, especially The Beatles. So when May Pang landed a gig at Apple Records, which quickly became working exclusively with John and Yoko as their full-time personal assistant, she found herself living a life beyond even her wildest dreams, all at the tender age of 19. Yet when the couples’ marriage began to disintegrate, Yoko convinced their young (i.e., easy to control) assistant that she was the safest bet to date a newly single John. Quickly the pair began what the singer would call his “Lost Weekend,” an 18-month-long whirlwind romance that took the two to the center of the madness of L.A.’s music scene, reunited a newly sober Lennon with his long-estranged son Julian, and reconnect the former Beatle to his love for rock & roll.

Roger Earl

Foghat continues to captivate fans of all ages with their timeless music. The band is still touring relentlessly, performing with an energy that radiates youthful exuberance, regardless of age. Founding member and drummer Roger Earl reflects on their enduring appeal: “We had a terrific time making this record. Six original tracks and six of some of our favorite songs by other artists. It’s interesting to note that our first album in 1972 featured a Willie Dixon song, ‘I Just Want to Make Love to You,’ and a Chuck Berry song, ‘Maybellene.’ This record includes songs from both of these legendary writers! Apparently, our musical tastes haven’t changed much!” Their latest album, "Sonic Mojo," released on November 10, 2023, holds special meaning for Earl. Three tracks were co-written with Kim Simmonds, who gave Earl his first break in 1967 as a member of Savoy Brown.
