Sandro Monetti is a British-born entertainment journalist, author, broadcaster, producer, playwright, and media personality who has built a distinguished career covering Hollywood from Los Angeles. Originally from Blackpool, England, he studied journalism at the University of Central Lancashire before beginning his career in British newspapers and magazines. Early positions included reporting for the Blackpool Evening Gazette, writing for Smash Hits magazine, and serving as an entertainment correspondent for the Daily Star and a television correspondent for the News of the World.
After relocating to Los Angeles in the late 1990s, Monetti became a familiar face and voice in entertainment journalism. He worked as a Hollywood correspondent for Sky Television, Express Newspapers, BBC Radio, and numerous international media outlets. Over the years, he has interviewed many of the world's biggest stars, including George Clooney, Will Smith, Madonna and Paul McCartney. He is a regular contributor on CNN International and has frequently appeared on BBC television and radio as a Hollywood and entertainment expert.
As an author, Monetti has written several books, including:
* Mickey Rourke: Wrestling with Demons
* Colin Firth: The Man Who Would Be King
* Confessions of a Hollywood Insider
His memoir shares stories from decades spent covering the entertainment industry and interacting with celebrities at the highest levels.
Beyond journalism, Monetti has enjoyed success as a playwright and screenwriter. His stage production Marilyn and Sinatra, which explores the relationship between Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra, has toured internationally and earned critical acclaim. He has also written and directed film projects, including the Oscar-qualified documentary Tech to the Future.
Monetti has also worked in publishing and media management. He served as Managing Editor of the Los Angeles Business Journal and later became Editor-in-Chief of Hollywood International Filmmaker Magazine. He has also held an executive role with Big Screen Entertainment Group, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer and helped oversee content development, acquisitions, and production.
Among his more unusual accomplishments, Monetti created what he describes as the world's first university degree course in Celebrity Journalism and developed a highly rated Hollywood celebrity tour in Los Angeles. He is also a sought-after moderator for live celebrity interview events and awards ceremonies, having hosted stage conversations with stars such as Sylvester Stallone, Al Pacino and George Clooney.
Today, Sandro Monetti remains one of the best-known British entertainment journalists working in Hollywood, balancing careers as a broadcaster, author, producer, film executive, playwright, moderator, and media commentator from his base in Los Angeles.
Sandro also works as a media consultant, as a showbiz expert for TV & radio shows and host of awards shows and conferences.
