Physical and Emotional Benefits of Immersing Yourself in Nature
Immersing yourself in nature isn’t just a retreat for the senses; it’s a powerful way to heal both body and mind. From the soothing rustle of leaves to the grounding feel of the earth beneath your feet, nature can calm, restore, and energize. Physically, it reduces stress hormones, lowers blood pressure, and enhances immune function. Emotionally, it improves clarity, creativity, and a deeper connection to oneself. Much like the myofascial system in our bodies, nature operates as a network of balance and resilience—reminding us that healing is often found in simplicity and stillness. Whether it’s a quiet walk through the woods or simply listening to birdsong, nature invites us to return to our natural rhythm to unlock healing and inner strength.
In this episode, we discuss nature-inspired healing, nature’s healing powers for our bodies, minds, and spirits, and how this can mirror what MFR provides with Karen Remele. Karen's journey began as a modern jazz dancer and instructor until a horrific motorcycle accident changed her life. She is now dedicated to helping others live pain-free existences and educating them on the benefits of myofascial release. Karen is both a licensed physical therapist assistant and a licensed massage therapist. Ultimately, she became a student and expert instructor at John. F Barnes MFR therapy, which she has now practiced for over 25 years
