The Widening Your Aperture Podcast

#20 Season 2 Intro

Kristen Henry + Guests Episode 19

Hello friends and welcome back for season two of The Widening Your Aperture Podcast! There’s been a bit of a gap since the ending of season one and I wanted to use this intro episode to share the changes I have made to the format as well as share a little bit about what’s in store for season 2.

Last season the focus of the podcast was personal stories of transformation. While that is still an important undercurrent in season 2, we widen the aperture and look deeply at how to cultivate holistic well-being using an eight pillar framework. In the process of building your holistic well-being foundation you are also becoming the best version of yourself, which already exists, you just have to step into it. The word thrive means something different for everyone, for me it it means that I am flourishing and expanding. These definitions may resonate with you, but ultimately, you get to define what holistic well-being and thriving mean to you and what that looks like in your unique human experience. My guests this season will also share what they think it means to thrive in life at the end of each episode. The process of creating holistic well-being will look different for everyone. For me, in this season of life, this process is re-identifying who I am now after all of these major life changes and then fostering, aligning and integrating the 8 pillars of my life. This is, and will always be, a work in progress.

My guests this season are what I consider to be subject matter experts on the topics that they speak to in each pillar. They cover a vast breadth and depth of knowledge, and they serve in a variety of career paths such as coaching, solopreneurship, medicine, public speaking, organizational psychology, writing, and financial advising just to name a few.  You can expect episodes with relevant how to’s and information on each of the eight pillars of holistic well-being. I am also very excited to share a monthly special episode called Wide Open Aperture that will air on the second Wednesday of every month. My cohost is my favorite human who also happens to be my brother, Brian. These episodes will be off the cuff, somewhat lengthy, and funny conversations about current events, books we’ve read, podcasts and documentaries we’ve enjoyed, the hard things we are doing, our wins of the month, and our attempts to solve some of the what the fuck’s of life. These episodes will also serve as an AMA opportunity for listeners! If you have a question, a hard decision that you want some outside perspective on, unsolicited life advice, or just want to vent your own what the fuck to be acknowledged and validated, send us an email at askWOA@wideningyouraperture.com Lastly, this season you can also watch all of the guest conversations and Wide-Open Aperture episodes on YouTube. As always, links will be provided in the show notes.

My favorite quote is from Ram Dass “we are all just walking each other home”. I would be honored to walk with you. My ultimate intention for this podcast is to step into my full potential and guide others to do the same. Together we strive for mastery in all areas of our lives, and yet accept the paradox, that mastery is never fully available to us. I love discovering the many complexities of the human experience and I consider it my mission to elucidate those complexities into manageable steps that makes sense and are easy to accomplish. I hope to provide you the tools, resources, and wisdom, so that you can take each of those steps with confidence. And now, welcome to season two of The Widening Your Aperture Podcast. My name is Kristen Henry, and I, along with this seasons guests, look forward to meeting you on our shared journey to holistic well-being and thriving in life.
