Ashlan was a registered sleep technician before going back to school for Psychology and Sociology and completed her social science research methods certificate. While at school she conducted research on social media use, relationships, and personality. She has a passion for relationship science and both trying to understand social behavior and communicating science to people. 

Writer, veteran, science communicator, husband. David was a nuclear propulsion instructor, operator, and technician in the US Navy when he met Ashlan. He was medically retired from the Navy and pursued an education in neuroscience. Along the way, he and Ashlan got married and he rediscovered his love for writing. After his mother passed, he finished his education and decided to become a full time novelist instead of pursuing a graduate education in neuroscience. Thanks to the podcast he gets to discuss his interests in behavioral sciences with Ashlan every week and have the best of both worlds.
