Dean Robertson

For years, I struggled with the pain of abandonment and broken relationships, trying to numb the hurt in ways that only made things worse. I kept searching for something to fill the emptiness, but nothing ever truly did. Two years ago, I made the decision to get sober, and in that process, I found my way back to God.
Recovery hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned that healing is possible. True strength comes from surrendering to grace, making peace with the past, and choosing to move forward with faith instead of fear. I’ve had to unlearn destructive patterns, let go of what was never meant for me, and trust that God had something better ahead.
My passion now is helping others break free from cycles of pain and self-destruction, offering encouragement to those who feel lost, because I’ve been there too.
Together, Jayne and I created Crazy Stupid Healing as a space to share real stories, insights, and lessons on what healing actually looks like.

Jayne Nelsen

Healing is messy, unpredictable, and nothing like the neat steps you read about in books. But it can also be full of grace, growth, and moments of unexpected joy. Crazy Stupid Healing was born from my journey—and Dean's—not just through the struggles, but into a life of deeper faith, peace, and purpose. I was broken, but God showed up. He didn’t just pull me out of the fire—He walked me through it. He taught me that healing isn’t about erasing the past; it’s about stepping into the future with faith, knowing He turns messes into messages and pain into purpose. This is where we share their stories.Crazy Stupid Healing isn’t just about trauma—it’s about what comes after. For more about my story, visit the link below.

Joshua & Janelle Sawiris

Joshua and Janelle Sawiris from Glory City Church Nashville, share their incredible story of triumph over tragedy, coming to America, and the incredible power of God to transform anyone at any time, no matter where you are or what you've been through.

Born into poverty and raised in a family struggling with addiction and instability, Joshua Sawiris experienced a life of constant upheaval. By age 15, he had attended over 35 schools, learning to adapt to ever-changing circumstances. These challenges exposed him to hardships beyond his years, forcing him to grow up far sooner than most.

Janelle shares her own story of heartbreak and healing through Christ's love and provision.  Rather than allowing their pain to define them, Joshua and Janelle now use those experiences as a foundation for strength to inspire and love those around them.
