Aliens, UFOs, and the Bible

In this episode, I dive into the subject of aliens and UFOs. What does the Bible have to say about it? Are these intergalactic encounters, or interdimensional? I examine what Scripture has to say about the unseen realm, deception, and how the truth will help us interpret the crazy things happening around us.

Hey everybody, thanks for tuning back in to the Dissatisfied Podcast. I am Rochelle Smith, and if you have listened to any of my episodes, you probably noticed that I like to tell, you know, personal stories that will kind of lead into what we're going to talk about. So today's no different. I'm going to start with a story. So my dad owned a heating and air conditioning business in the town that I grew up in, in Jacksonville. And you know, when your parents own a business, you're just there naturally a lot as a kid. So my siblings and I spent a ton of time there when we were little because my mom worked there as well. And so we were there after school, we were there on Saturdays. And I have some great memories of being there at the shop. That's what we called it, the shop. And it was in this area where across the parking lot there were some other businesses. And there was one store, I don't even remember the name of it. I don't remember exactly what it was. I just remember that I loved the girl who worked there. And I think her name was Rhonda. I should have asked my mom, dang it. But I think her name was Rhonda. And at five years old, I would just skip across the parking lot and go see her and talk to her. And you know what? I probably bugged her because I was just this little kid, but maybe not because I was actually really cute. I was a really cute kid. So I'm sure she loved me. But anyway, one day when I was over there, you know, in true five-year-old fashion, I decided that I was going to swing on this thing that was hanging from the ceiling. It was like this fabric, it was like a fabric tassel-y rope thing. I think it was one of those fabric things that used to hold plants, and I'm sure they still make those, but it was a plant holder, basically. So this piece was hanging down, I decided to swing on it, and everything came crashing down because it was a drop ceiling. And along with the drop ceiling came the metal piece, and it sliced me. It sliced me right above my eye and right below my eye. So Rhonda runs to me, she scoops me up, she runs over to my parents, she gets them, and apparently there was so much blood that they couldn't really see if my eye had been mangled. So I just remember riding in my mom's lap on the way to the hospital. She had a towel over my face trying to stop the blood. And I remember my mom saying that she thought I had lost my eye. But thankfully I didn't. Thankfully, my eyes are intact. I just needed a bunch of stitches on my upper eyelid and then right below my eye. I still have the scars from that. But I think, how on earth did that miss my eyeball? It went everywhere but my eyeball. And I think, okay, my guardian angel was there that day, you know, deflecting the metal for my eyeball. So I'm so thankful that I have both my eyes and I can see well. But did you know? Here's where we're going to lead into what we're going to talk about today. Did you know that we have another set of eyes that God gave us? It's our spiritual eyes. He gave us spiritual sight. And in Ephesians 1 18, it talks about opening the eyes of our hearts. So what does that mean? It means understanding deeper things, but it also means seeing beyond what we can see with our physical eyes. In two Kings chapter six, Elisha the prophet, he's being sought after by a king who wants to capture him and destroy him. So the king sent this huge army to surround the city where Elisha was, and Elisha had his servant with him, and this is what it says in verse fifteen. When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. O sir, what will we do now? The young man cried to Elisha. Don't be afraid, Elisha told him, for there are more on our side than on theirs. Then Elisha prayed, O Lord, open his eyes and let him see. The Lord opened the young man's eyes, and when he looked up he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. Okay, so what eyes did the Lord open? The servant's eyes were working just fine. He saw the king's army that surrounded them. So what pair of eyes did the Lord open? The Lord opened his spiritual eyes to see in the spirit. So basically he saw in another dimension. And I know that that sounds weird, but that's just what it is. It's the unseen realm. In 2 Corinthians 4 18, it says we fix our eyes on not what is seen, but what is unseen. Ephesians 6 12. I talk about this verse a lot. It's the one that says, For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world. So there is a reality that we can't see with our human eyes. But sometimes the veil between this world and the unseen world gets really thin, and God allows us to see into it. And I personally believe that things are really ramping up to the point where we're seeing and we will continue to see an acceleration with this kind of thing. And one of those things is aliens. And maybe you've been hearing the stuff in the news, but in the news recently we're hearing a lot about aliens and UFOs. President Trump actually called for the UFO files to be released. I don't know if they have been or not. I haven't looked that up, but maybe they have. But I guess they're calling them UAPs now. Unidentified anomalous phenomena. Thanks a lot for making it more difficult for us. So yeah, unidentified anomalous phenomena, which encompasses space, sea, and land. So all three of those things. But in the news, we have former Congressman Matt Gates. He did an interview where he said that he was briefed by a uniformed military officer about a secret alien human breeding program. Well, let me say that again. He said that he was briefed by a uniformed military officer about a secret alien human breeding program. Yeah. Stay with me here. Please stay with me. So apparently they were they're doing this program because they want to create a hybrid race capable of communicating intergalactically. Yep, intergalactically. Then you also have a congressman from Tennessee, his name is Tim Burchett, saying that if if the classified information were released to the public, that the country would come unglued if they heard what he heard. He said the information has the potential to set the earth on fire. And apparently he's advocating and very outspoken for the release of this information to the public. Then there's a representative from Missouri, Eric Burleson, who has talked about videos he's viewed of these UFOs or UAPs. So here's a quote from him in an interview that he did. He said, I have seen videos of objects. I can't tell you exactly what they are. I say that because I'm saying I saw it, and I can't tell what they are, and neither could the people that film them. It's something that's wild, like you know, defies logic, the way in which they operate. What you're often seeing is these glowing type orbs. They look like balls of plasma that seem to be stationary, and then sometimes they'll just move at incredible speeds. So that's a quote from him in an interview. And apparently there's also been briefings of an unidentified craft the size of a football field moving under the sea at a high rate of speed. Yeah. Size of a football field moving at like a hundred miles an hour underneath the sea. Really, this is the world that we're living in. Are you kidding me? It's absolutely bat shamama crazy. And I say shamama because I don't want to cuss, I want to keep it clean. But this is it's like we're living in a movie. It is truly like we are living in a movie. It's absolutely crazy. And the question is, do we believe this? Is this information something that we are going to believe? I don't know, but I guess at this point I wouldn't be surprised. I lean towards, yeah, I believe it. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an alien human breeding program. You know why? Because the Bible talks about how the fallen angels mated with human women and it produced offspring called the Nephilim, who were giants. That's in Genesis. So I mean, I'm open to the fact that there might still be some pretty crazy stuff happening in the world. But here's what I don't believe. I don't believe that they are aliens. I believe so-called aliens are demons. And so these things are not intergalactic beings, they are interdimensional entities. So we are living in some crazy times. Not that this stuff hasn't existed before because it has, it's always existed since the dawn of man. I mean, Satan was in the garden with Adam and Eve at the beginning in the form of a serpent. He took on a different form, but the level of exposure that we're seeing right now, the exposure of evil, seems to be at a level that we really haven't ever seen before. But here we are, here you are, here I am. God put us here at this time, right now, to be living through this, witnessing these things, being a part of this stuff. So what do we do? Well, number one, we are not supposed to stick our heads in the sand. We need to be informed and understand what we're dealing with. Number two, we need to look at all that's happening through a biblical lens because that's our source for everything. It's the filter that we need to be using for all of this type of crazy information. And then number three, we pray and we keep praying and we never stop praying. So, you know, when I use the Bible to filter this idea of aliens, I come to the conclusion that they are demons. And I know this kind of thing can stir up fear in us, but we need to be reminded, we are not to fear. God tells us over and over again in the Bible to not fear and to have courage. So we don't need to fear these things, but we do need to have conversations about this stuff. Number one, so we can encourage one another. Number two, so we can investigate and decipher what's really going on. So conversations are good. And years ago, I remember having a conversation with a Christian friend on the subject of aliens, and he basically said to me, he goes, Well, are you saying that God couldn't have made aliens or other life forms on other planets? Basically saying, Well, who are you to try to say you know that God didn't create other life forms? But the thing is, is that's not what I'm saying. I'm not saying that God can't do that. He can do anything he wants to do, he's God. But what I'm saying is that God's word, which he gave us, is our source and our filter for everything. And I want to read these verses. It's John 1, one through five. It says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. So life was the light of men. It doesn't say life was the light of aliens. And then a few other verses about God's word. Psalm one hundred nineteen says, Your word, Lord, is eternal, it stands firm in the heavens. Isaiah chapter forty says the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of God endures forever. Matthew twenty four, Jesus said, Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. And then we need to consider this. We need to consider the fact that the Lord is not a liar, nor can he lie. In fact, Jesus said that the devil is the father of lies. So lying originated with Satan. God does not lie. Numbers twenty three, nineteen says God is not a man that he should lie. Titus one two says, in hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie promised before the world began. And then in Hebrews it states that it is impossible for God to lie. God is not a liar, and that includes lies of omission. You know, wouldn't it be a pretty significant piece of information for the followers of Christ to know that there are other life forms out there? But God just left that part out of his account of creation? Yeah, I don't buy that, and I never will. Not because I believe God couldn't create other life forms on other planets, but because I believe God's word shows us that he didn't. So here's what we need to remember. Man was created in the image of God. Jesus was born into the earth as a man, died as a man for the sins of man, rose to life as a man, and then ascended into heaven as a man. And he sits at the right hand of the Father as a man. So aliens are demons. They are interdimensional, not intergalactic. And did you know that the Bible says that Satan is the prince of the power of the air? That's in Ephesians 2 2. The prince of the power of the air. So I think that points to the fact that the devil has a certain amount of influence and power over our world in the unseen realm. But I also think, well, that's interesting that he's the prince of the power of the air. Could that point to all the UFO or UAP, whatever they call it, phenomena? I think so. Satan is also referred to as the ruler of this world. He's also referred to as the god of this age. So he's got a certain amount of power. He's got some pull in the earth. Why does God allow him to have that? I don't know. I just know we need to pay attention to what's happening in the world. And the world's always kind of been obsessed with aliens. And we see this in Hollywood, obviously. I used to be a huge fan of the X-Files in the 90s. Does anybody remember that show? I loved that show. And then you have tons of alien movies. So the literal alien movies with Sigourney Weaver. Those are fun, kind of scary, but fun. You have E.T., your friendly little alien, family-friendly movie E.T., the movie Signs with Mel Gibson. Do you remember that one? I loved that movie, but that's got a creepy feel. You have Men in Black, you have Independence Day, Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise. That's a fun one. You've got War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. That's a little more on the creepy side. And then Quiet Place Movies. I watched the first one of that, and I never watched the second one because it was a little too of a creepy, dark feel for me. Anyway, there are literally hundreds of alien movies and shows. When I looked it up, I had to look up the list. I was like, what are some of the popular alien movies? And I mean literally hundreds popped up. You know, if I were still the same person I was in 1997, I would be all for the alien invasion. I would be here for it. I would be inviting the aliens into my house. Because in 1997, that was when the movie Contact came out. It's with Jodie Foster. But I was totally obsessed with this movie. I loved it. I think I saw it several times. So I was ready to bring on the aliens. But not now. No thanks. I know what they are now, and I don't want any contact with demons. I had enough of that stuff with the horrible demonic nightmares I had, one of which included me being physically choked by a demon in real life. So no thanks. I do not seek that out. But what is the obsession? Why do people obsess about aliens? Why do people almost want aliens to be real? Well, if you don't have a biblical worldview, then your worldview is probably aligned with the secular worldview, right? Which is built on monkey to man evolution, where everything, all of life, came from nothing and everything is random. So with that worldview, there's no direction. There's no anchor to what you believe. And most of the time, people who believe in alien life are people who don't believe in God. Or they'll say maybe they believe in something, you know, they believe maybe in a type of God or that all gods are the same, but it's not the God of the Bible. So again, anything goes. There's no boundary lines in those belief systems. In Ecclesiastes 3.11, it says that God has put eternity into the heart of every man. So every person has eternity in their hearts, which means we all know we were made for something more. We all know deep inside that there is something beyond ourselves. So people who don't have the Bible as their foundation don't understand that it's the Lord that they actually desire to connect with. So they end up seeking to connect with other things like aliens or the universe or their inner being, whatever it is. But it's basically witchcraft. It's like playing with a Ouija board when you're trying to contact spirits. People who seek to connect with aliens are opening themselves up to demonic activity. So they might make contact, but it's not going to be with an alien. It's going to be with a demon. So what should we do? What should we do in this time that we're living in? Because more than likely, we're going to be confronted with more and more of these things, with aliens, UFOs, all these things. What do we do? Well, we anchor ourselves in the Word of God. We hold on to truth and we stand in faith. And then we also need to pray that we ourselves are not deceived, and we need to pray for other people, not to be deceived. 1 Timothy chapter 4, it says the Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. So there are ideas and teachings that are from demons. And the alien deception is one of those things. And I believe it's to keep people from knowing God and to even pull people away from walking with God. So, you know, this isn't a time for us to let our guard down and just go about our lives like nothing's happening. This is truly a battle against good and evil, and we are called to engage in it. We are called to battle deception with the truth. I remember about a week before my brother Rich died, I was having this conversation with. At my kitchen table, and we were talking about all sorts of crazy stuff, and he was talking about how he thought that aliens were real. And at the time I was thinking how crazy some of the stuff that he was talking about was, and the reality was he was onto some stuff that I hadn't really been awakened to yet. But anyway, he was saying how he thought aliens were real, and I said, Yeah, they are real, but they're demons. And I can't remember exactly what he said, but I just remember that conversation so vividly that even then, ten years ago, I was like, nope, they're real, but they're demons. So I don't think that it's my life's mission, you know, to shout from the rooftops, aliens are demons, aliens are demons. But I do feel like it's my life's mission to share the truth. And that's what I'm doing. That's what I'm trying to do, that's what I'm gonna keep doing. So my encouragement to you is do not fear when you hear things of UFOs, UAPs, aliens, all that stuff. If you're hearing about that stuff in the news, on social media, do not fear. And it's not because those things have not been observed or encountered or that they're not real, it's just that we actually can identify those things. They are identifiable as demonic activity, as demonic deceptions. So you already have the answer. We don't have to feel like we're in the dark. And you know what? There's really so much more we could talk about on this subject, but I just kind of felt like I needed to address some of this since we're hearing so much more about it, and odds are we're gonna we're gonna start to hear even more. That's my guess, is there's gonna be more coming out about all this alien stuff. But be encouraged, you have the answers. God has given us the answers. So thanks for listening.
