The Unbusy Mom - take your time back strategies for business moms

All the things you DON’T have to do before getting yourself some serious productivity help as a WFH entrepreneur mom! (Industry myth busting time!)

Alyssa Wolff - Work/Life Balance Coach for Business Moms

These days, you have to do a whole lot of spadework before you’re allowed to start something.

I mean, before you can make a change to your workout habits, you’re supposed to research everything ad nauseum, buy just the right gear, set up your schedule, fill the latest and greatest water bottle – whatever happened to “just trying it” with a little jog-around-the-block habit for 30 days?

Why all this “get your life together and THEN we’ll let you change it”?

You’re told you need to know what went wrong first, maybe do a little self-analysis on what in your past caused you to behave this way, set up a schedule for yourself (‘cause if you don’t try something, you’ll never know what the sticking point is!), work that self-discipline muscle, set up all the systems and planners…..

They’re practically telling you you have to DO the change first before they’re going to help you!

Not me - here’s why I take a stand against this.

You’ve got this!

This is the Unbusy Mom, and today we’re talking about all the things you DON’T have to do before getting yourself some serious productivity help – aka, industry myth busting time!

You know, I got told, over and over again, when I was a newbie business owner, that I had the mindset of the upper-5-figure to 6-figure entrepreneur *already*.

I had the *thinking* patterns that I’d need to succeed - I just didn’t have all the strategy and experience yet. But that’s what made it a sure thing (from my coach’s perspective) that I *was* going to get there.

But *she* had to take a chance on *me* - ‘cause I didn’t have the consistent income results to *prove* it.

And there are *so many* masterminds or programs out there that have revenue requirements to join….

They don’t want some poor newbie who just wants to make a difference and is ready to start learning from the ground up.

Um, what? Come on! You have to take anyone who wants to have answers!

  • If you’re 44 and you’ve never followed a priority-based schedule in your life, but you’re ready now, I’ll show you!
  • If you’re snowed under with 5 babies and 2 teenagers who've never helped you with the chores, and you’re sick and tired and ready, I’ll get the ball rolling for you!
  • If you’ve never set up a day that suits you – you’ve just been powering through the nursing nights and Facebook lives while baby walking – but now you’re ready to take even just a little of your time back, of course I’m going to help you!

I’m not going to make you live all my precepts first without even knowing them. Without even having the support to keep doing them.

That’s silly! Yet that’s what so many coaching programs want of you.

“Don’t apply unless you’re an experienced business owner who knows how to….” Well yeah, then why are you applying in the first place? If you’re so experienced.

What do they think they can teach you?

Which is why there’s no hidden prerequisite to my work/life balance coaching. No “well actually, you have to do this first before I’ll help you.”

Just plain, simple, are you ready to make a change or are you not?

If you’re not, nothing I can do or say or teach you will move the needle for you. Because you’re not in a position to receive it.

But if you are, if you come with a learner’s heart for all this unbusy change, massive things are going to happen for you.

You’re going to spend WAY less time on your housework – ‘cause you suddenly realize you DON’T have to do it all.

You get to spend more quality time with your kids – because you already crossed off your task list for the day (an hour early!)

You’re giving yourself an hour and a half of recharge time on WHATEVER you like, even during the work week, ‘cause we’ve essentialized and trimmed your daily schedule so much that you can AFFORD to take this much time to fill your own cup.

And you’re basking in the certainty that you know EXACTLY what you need to do this week, this month, and this quarter in your business to hit your revenue goals – ‘cause we’ve worked ALL those things into your CEO calendar and it all FITS.

So don’t believe the “experience wanted” coaches out there. You don’t have to have done this already. (That’s what I’m here to teach you.)

If the productivity hacks and "just do it" advice (not to mention "why can't you" shaming) has never worked for you, it’s either because you weren’t ready (and you tried to just discipline your way through it) or you didn’t have support (which is the entire purpose behind my work/life balance program!).

You’re allowed to show up for change, no prior experience required. Just the burning desire to never live like this again.

That’s the only prerequisite you need.
