The Unbusy Mom - take your time back strategies for business moms
How does getting 20 hours back a week sound?
Mom life is easy for me. And by the way, I’m working from home (plus homeschooling!) with 5 kids.
Ready to give yourself permission to quit?
✅ You feel like you’re up to your eyeballs in to-do lists
✅ You’ve got more things scheduled on your calendar than you’ve ever seen
✅ Your kids need more time than you’ve currently got (for homework & playing with them after school)
✅ Your plans for date night are getting pushed last minute (or snoozed till next week – again)
✅ You can’t even fathom taking a two-hour break in the middle of the day (because if you stop, the house might literally burn down)
✅ You can’t remember the last time you got a pedicure (because you’re too busy taking care of everyone except yourself)
It’s time to escape the never-ending cycle of “there goes my lunch break” meetings, “turn around by Friday” projects, & “hang on I’m almost done” answers to your kids….
And swap that for working less, snuggling your kids, and putting "me time" back on your calendar.
Listen - I’ve been a work-at-home entrepreneur for 5+ years, with 5 kids at home with me (all day every day), with podcasts to record and client calls to take - and I’m still getting 3 hours of free time a day.
My genius is showing you what you SHOULDN’T be doing - ‘cause you’re right, you can’t do it all.
And it’s time for you to stop creating unnecessary pressure in your role as mom, entrepreneur, and all-around high achiever.
Here’s your new “work from home freedom” plan….
✔ Give yourself the workouts, journaling, and hobby time you need every single day
✔ Spend more time cuddling your kids, less time cleaning up after them
✔ Shut off the work brain and be fully present as a mom
✔ Deep work for hours (guilt-free) as you scale your business
✔ Up your revenue, not your hours

The Unbusy Mom - take your time back strategies for business moms
Before you spin out over how far you still have to go in your work-from-home business....
Are you still energized by that next level, or are you getting tired of all the (semi major) steps there are between where you started and where you want to be, business-wise?
You’re getting discouraged at the thought that you haven’t arrived yet and all those big money coaches or boutique brand designers are already there.
But have you ever stopped to think that they’re still upleveling? That they’re still not there?
So yes, right now your uplevel may be paying for a Pinterest marketing manager or investing in a done-for-you launch copywriting package or sending your team to a Facebook ads course - but one day it won’t be.
You’ve got this!

This is the Unbusy Mom, and today we’re talking about what you need to hear before you spin out over how far you still have to go in your work-from-home business.
What’s your “next level” that you’re aiming at? And do you feel energized by that goal, or are you getting tired of all the (semi major) steps there are between where you started and where you want to be, business-wise?
If you’re in the thick of it, and crossing off the goal isn’t even inspiring anymore ‘cause another one just pops right up in its place, and you can’t even see the end of the tunnel for the length of this scaling road you’re on, hear me out....
You’re getting discouraged at the thought that you haven’t arrived yet and all those big money coaches or boutique rebranding designers are already there.
But have you ever stopped to think that *they’re* still upleveling? That *they’re* still not there?
Just because you hit one level, doesn’t mean you’re forever staying there. (In fact, I hope not - sounds like a recipe for stagnation to me!)
So yes, right now your uplevel may be paying for a Pinterest marketing manager or investing in a done-for-you launch copywriting package or sending your team to a Facebook ads course - but one day it won’t be.
One day it’ll be an executive assistant (the VA just for you), and team retreats, and $50,000 masterminds, or even a professionally filmed update for your signature course.
One day.
So take heart, and know that you’re not alone in this. You’re just going through the mid levels of this game. (Not that we moms always like video games, but you get my analogy.)
You’re putting in the time *here* so you can level up to your empire state - and believe me, those higher levels still take plenty of reinforcement and special encouragement. Aka, skills and mentorship.
So if an example would help make this real for you, here’s what I’m investing in (as a mom and biz owner) even though I’m well beyond the “business basics.”
(Because no, you don’t need B-School and then you’re done. That’s not how it works.)
I, personally, pay for coaching and courses and memberships whenever there’s an area (if life or in business) that I don’t just pick up naturally.
So for you, that might be cooking and menu planning (for your strengths) - but you totally bomb out on cleaning routines or sewing or tiny gardening.
Guess what - your “courses don’t cut it for me” level is totally unique to you! It all depends on your natural talents and abilities. (Which is why you won’t find me “picking up” gardening on the fly - but I *can* organize a mean menu binder with the best of them!)
See, all you have to do is decide where you’re growing and where you want to go next. That’s it!
And for me, that means learning more about homeschooling high school (just to solidify me in this college and career planning phase - I hear it’s very common for homeschool moms!), plus doing a heavy dose of business mindset energetics (rather than strategies).
(Trust me, I’ve accumulated lots of strategies. But what I personally need, for my Enneagram One personality, is the freedom to give myself grace. So that’s why I need biz mindset more than anything.)
So sure, I’m going to learn how to manage a team and all that. But I’m not paying for team retreats and all that, because I DON’T have an in-person (or state or city) team – we’re all virtual. And I’m happy with that level for NOW. But I *know* that I’m allowed to keep paying for development for my SELF because I’m upleveling in new areas that are NOT exactly business strategy.
(Whereas for you, you might have 8 people on your team but really need a second set of eyes on the work/life balance phase.)
It all depends on what YOU need right now.
So where do you feel like you need additional support? A mentor, a here’s how I did it, or a roadmap to success?
Because I’m all about getting YOU that confidence that everything your business needed from you today got done – and oftentimes that comes down to mindset. Your CEO mindset, really.
- It’s what’s stopping you from hiring team in the first place. (Because you think you should do it solo till you hit $70,000 a year mark.
- Or firing that one not-right-fit team member. (Oh no, it might make me look harsh! I just need to work with her longer.)
- Or admitting that you really need an OBM now, not just your (incredibly hard working) VA, because your brain needs to not be the SOLE one responsible for holding all the launches anymore.
And this is how we GET you that white space in your day, week, and month – by reworking your MINDSET to where you’ll ALLOW yourself that “what do I need next” support.
Make sense?
Where do you need to give yourself PERMISSION around your new level today?
