The Unbusy Mom - take your time back strategies for business moms
How does getting 20 hours back a week sound?
Mom life is easy for me. And by the way, I’m working from home (plus homeschooling!) with 5 kids.
Ready to give yourself permission to quit?
✅ You feel like you’re up to your eyeballs in to-do lists
✅ You’ve got more things scheduled on your calendar than you’ve ever seen
✅ Your kids need more time than you’ve currently got (for homework & playing with them after school)
✅ Your plans for date night are getting pushed last minute (or snoozed till next week – again)
✅ You can’t even fathom taking a two-hour break in the middle of the day (because if you stop, the house might literally burn down)
✅ You can’t remember the last time you got a pedicure (because you’re too busy taking care of everyone except yourself)
It’s time to escape the never-ending cycle of “there goes my lunch break” meetings, “turn around by Friday” projects, & “hang on I’m almost done” answers to your kids….
And swap that for working less, snuggling your kids, and putting "me time" back on your calendar.
Listen - I’ve been a work-at-home entrepreneur for 5+ years, with 5 kids at home with me (all day every day), with podcasts to record and client calls to take - and I’m still getting 3 hours of free time a day.
My genius is showing you what you SHOULDN’T be doing - ‘cause you’re right, you can’t do it all.
And it’s time for you to stop creating unnecessary pressure in your role as mom, entrepreneur, and all-around high achiever.
Here’s your new “work from home freedom” plan….
✔ Give yourself the workouts, journaling, and hobby time you need every single day
✔ Spend more time cuddling your kids, less time cleaning up after them
✔ Shut off the work brain and be fully present as a mom
✔ Deep work for hours (guilt-free) as you scale your business
✔ Up your revenue, not your hours

The Unbusy Mom - take your time back strategies for business moms
Stop freaking out at the next wave of clients as an entrepreneur mom… just hit the recharge button!
Every time you sign a few more clients (yay, money!), you get overwhelmed.
Then you overwork to keep up, overcompensate, and inevitably, burn out.
It’s become a pattern.
So here’s my anti-brain-fog suggestion that lets you hit the reset switch and hit the ground running (AFTER you do this one thing!) to efficience-ize your schedule
You’ve got this!

This is the Unbusy Mom, and today we’re talking about how to stop freaking out as an entrepreneur mom… and just hit the recharge button!
Every time you sign a few more clients (yay, money!), you get overwhelmed.
You’re starting to see the pattern.
That’s really the only time that you can't think straight anymore - or remember which client projects you’re tackling tomorrow - never mind what's for supper tomorrow night.
(And let’s not even mention what's on your to-do list 3 days from now!)
Every time your client load ramps up, you really need something to cut through this brain fog - for once and for all - or you're going to keep stumbling blindly through this fog of "another kid mess and back to sales page" or "throw together another kid snack on autopilot while my brain’s coming up with next week’s social media posts.”
So my anti-fog suggestion?
Buckle down on a productivity change when you’re too busy or overwhelmed - because it's the only thing that's ACTUALLY going to reboot things for you. And here's why.
Listen - you got this way because you overworked, overtried, overcompensated, and then, inevitably, over-burned out. (Understandably!)
So now what we want you to do is over-REST. (If such a thing is possible as a mom!)
Hit the reset switch, then hit the ground running (AFTER your break!) to efficience-ize your schedule, match your daily energy ebbs and flows with your tasks, hand off some of that housework, and start taking regular rest breaks.
How does that sound to you? Like some other CEO mom's wonderful-but-efficient pipe dream?
Nope - it's possible for YOU.
But first you need to take that break. Just long enough to clear your head. (And if this means taking a nap, so be it! You do what you gotta do.)
THEN - after you've gotten your neurons semi-well-rested - I want to see you again. And THIS time, we're working on triaging your to-do list. (You know, that monster in the corner under your bed?)
We're going to scrape today's to-do's WAY back to the minimum so you can breathe a sigh of relief about TODAY, THEN deal with tomorrow. Because right now you've got to calm down and PROVE to yourself that you can make it through today with grace and ease. Right?
Lunch and snack are over, babies are down for nap 2, your 2nd load of laundry is humming in the dryer, and NOW you can think again. (But first, get a cup of coffee or tea going in the microwave for yourself!)
- What else did you want to get done today?
- Where is this mental overwhelm and pressure coming from?
- What expectation, hidden on your task list, is the root source of all this performance stress for you?
Go ahead, you're allowed - pull out that to-do list again and circle whatever jumps out at you. Which ones you automatically cringe away from and think "no, not that one! I don't want to do that one!" There's your bad guy.
Now that you've found him, I want you to play with the thought of "what if I DIDN’T have to do this chore or write this post or go live for this launch?"
And then just write down what comes up for you afterwards. 'Cause I know even THINKING about letting yourself off the hook is going to trigger a cascade of thoughts.
That's okay; just let them come. Write them down.
And then once you're done, THESE are the layers, hidden in your stubborn mind, that are ACTUALLY keeping you prisoner in this "work-work-work push-push-push" land. These ones.
NOW we can begin to unwind them. (But that's a story for another day.) Sneak peek: here’s a good start…. Ask if any of them are true - because most of 'em were invented straight by YOU. YOUR head.
They're not actually real. But you'll need some more journaling sessions or talks with God or a coach to fully banish them.
(And believe me, when you’ve got the right coach, it feels so GOOD to re-up with her and just be able to share honestly about how things are going for you in your business plus family life! Kind of like picking back up with a best friend.)
At least, that’s how it felt to me, after re-upping with my coach after her maternity break! But this is what you get to have when you work with me, ‘cause I’m your wingman for all things productivity.
Not to mention making sure you’re building in that daily recharge time (and actually taking it!) every single workday…. Aka, relying on the power of scheduling. Which is exactly what I’ll teach you in my work/life balance for mompreneurs program.
But first, I want to congratulate you today. You just made a TON of progress.
You slowed down enough to sensibly tackle your to-do list; you knocked out each and every high priority item for today; AND you pinpointed all the mental icebergs underneath the surface that have been sabotaging your productivity (by forcing you into frazzle land).
That's a HUGE accomplishment. Enough for 2 days.
So pat yourself on the back - you did it in 1 - and go flop for the rest of today. That was a doozy.
And TOMORROW, you can come back for the truth excavation about those same mental stories.
You've got this.
You're on your way to change.
Just let God help you.
