Calm Your Nervous System
Calm Your Nervous System is a podcast designed to help you not only calm, but more importantly learn to regulate your nervous system!
I’m your host, Jenny Adams, a somatic coach who has recovered from debilitating ME/CFS and trauma.
Each episode, I'll be discussing a different topic and journey (sometimes with a special guest!) about how people are healing their nervous systems. We're here to share tips, stories and debunk jargon (what is somatics anyway?!) about how you can heal your nervous system so you don’t have to live with chronic illness, burnout or debilitating trauma for the rest of your life.
When we learn to regulate our nervous systems, we become better partners, parents, workers, friends and better human beings!
Listen up if you have a chronic illness, burnout, stress, migraines, chronic pain, ADHD or trauma and want to live a joyFULL and balanced life!

My Story: How I Used Nervous System Regulation to Heal My ME/CFS | Episode 2
Trying to recover from ME/CFS when you have no idea what works is not an easy thing to do - I’ve been there! Whether it’s acupuncture, the Perrin technique, veganism, pilates or therapy, I’ve tried it all. In today’s episode, I’m diving into what worked for me! This is the second part of two “my story” episodes (do go and check out part one first!) where I’m sharing much more about the recovery side of things and how I discovered that what was working was nervous system regulation.
In this episode, I’m chatting about:
- Allll the different things I tried while attempting to heal ME/CFS
- How I discovered that being vegan worked for my body
- Realising that what worked was nervous system regulation
- Adaptations I would make to my life in order to stay functioning
- How I live my life now!
- Why I went to Ibiza and Miami alone and the things I learnt about myself on these trips
