testing one, two, i, The pressure to show up consistently online can feel
Megan Loehr:overwhelming as business owners, thought leaders and entrepreneurs and that never ending hamster wheel of content creation, we're over it, because here's the thing, trying to create content at a relentless pace without a clear plan is a surefire way to burn out. The good news is that there is a way to that lets you stay consistent, protect your energy, and create content that genuinely connects with your audience, huh, right. That is a big sigh of relief. This episode is for those of you who want to market sustainably, without sacrificing your well being and really tuning into and like enjoying your lifestyle, that's one of the reasons why we started our business. So whether you are a lean team or a seasoned CEO with a bigger team looking to optimize your content strategy, the three tips I'm sharing today will help you create content consistently and efficiently while actually enjoying as a content creation process. By the end of this episode, you will have a roadmap to create content that doesn't just check a box, but actually drive results. So let's dive in. First thing we want to do is shift our focus from quantity to quality. So, like, part of me is like, Well, yeah, that sounds obvious. And then the other part of me is like, well, omnipresence is important. We do want to be showing up in all of the places so that people see us. We do want it to be repetitive to some extent, right? Because that is a memory tool. Repetition is a memory tool. Think about you days back in school, we want to show up in all the places so that we are top of mind when our client or customer or potential client is ready to buy so but actually, I want to argue this and hear me all the way out when it comes to content creation, the old saying rings true, less is more. So instead of trying out this high volume of posts, I want to argue that you should instead prioritize creating content that provides real value to your audience. Quality content not only stands the test of time, but it also builds trust and authority within your niche. Quality content means it's actionable, insightful. It's tailored to your audience's needs. It directly answers their questions, solve their problems, and inspires them to take the next step, maybe even with you. So think about evergreen content that remains relevant months or even years after you publish it. That is the goal. Too many people come to me saying, oh my gosh, I spend two hours writing this post for LinkedIn or Instagram or like whatever, insert your social media of choice, and then it's no surprise that they are feeling a bit burnt out with content creation that yet they don't want to outsource it, because they know that they are the thought leader of their business. And yes, that is absolutely true. But what I'm going to share with you today is how you remain the thought leader without it taking you two hours to make a post, and you are going to spend those two hours creating content, yes, but then I'm going to show you a way and a system so that that is all you're spending on it, and you're still showing up everywhere, and you're still maintaining that omnipresence. You
Unknown:uh, without actually having to be everywhere, because that's exhausting, right?
Megan Loehr:And that is not actually the best use of our time. So here's how, what we can do first is you want to prioritize quality over quantity. And yes, the quantity will get there, that will be built in, but quality needs to come first. So there's three things that come with that. One is understanding your audience. Start by digging into what they truly need. What are their pain points? What are they complaining about? What are the struggles that are deep down in there? And what questions do they ask repeatedly. What things are you always answering on your sales calls or sales DMS or sales conversations, use these insights and and even that same language to guide your content creation, because that is what is most relevant and urgent for your audience to hear. Two is to focus on pillar content. That means create Cornerstone pieces. It could be a detailed guide, long form blog or in depth video or podcast that can be then repurposed into smaller pieces of content. So you as the thought leader, want to focus on creating. You know, the long form blog, video, podcast, whatever your medium of choice is, and once that's out there, then it's so easy for that to be broken down into smaller pieces and repurposed elsewhere. And we're going to get into exactly what that could look like a little bit later on in this episode. And then the other thing that I'm always seeing is to set realistic goals. So it is not realistic to spend two hours a day writing posts for daily posts, yes, if you want to post daily, but like, spending two hours a day on it. Like, I don't know, it's just not realistic. I know a lot of my audience is moms or parents, and like, we're in the thick of it. We just like, we don't have a full eight hour work day, and so we need to make the most of it. So this is going to be how we can do that, without having to use all of the hours in our day to do it. So we are going to commit to publishing fewer but more impactful pieces of content, and then let the repurposing be so that we still have daily posts, if that is the goal that you want. So by shifting your focus to quality, you are not only reducing the pressure of the constant posting, but you're also creating content that delivers long term results. Like to spend two hours of your time writing a post that is going to be gone in 24 hours or less on social media like that is not the best ROI on your time, right? So if you need help identifying what your audience truly needs and how to do this so much more quickly and efficiently, I have a simple content build system. It's like a VIP day. It can help you map out a strategic plan tailored to your goals. You can DIY or delegate as much as you want. You can AI or not as much as you want. And it's really building the system that's going to work for you for months and months and years even to come, so that you know what is enough that you can decide, decide what success feels like, and you can stop feeling like you're never doing enough. More on that in a second. Okay, let's dive into number two here. Our second tip out of three is to start with a solid foundation of strategic messaging. So many of us want that quick win, and we dive in right away, but then forget to be strategic about it. And let me tell you, this burnout does not just come from overwork. It often stems from lack of clarity. When your messaging is unclear or inconsistent, every piece of content feels like you're starting from scratch, that blank page syndrome, that writer's block, just staring at you. And that is where strategic messaging really comes in and plays a strong role. Here it is the foundation of your brand's voice and identity. You have to do the market research or hire someone like me to do it for you, and that is going to create the clear, cohesive story that guides everything that you say and do within your brand. When your messaging is dialed in, creating content becomes so much more effortless because you know exactly what to say and how to say it, and it doesn't matter what platform you show up on. When your messaging is dialed in, your audience is going to hear you, and that is also why, like, you won't have to shout from the rooftops to be heard above all the noise, you are going to stand out and clearly cut through that noise simply with a strong and strategic message. Okay, sounds great, right? Right? But how do we build this strategic messaging? First, I would say, is you need to clarify the core message. What does your brand stand for? What are your values and how does the how do those play out through your brand? What new, unique value do you bring to the table that not everyone else has like maybe that makes you different from your competitors. Really spend time going deep with this and nail down the answers to these questions, because that is going to solve so many more of these more surface level problems are going to take care of themselves. Next thing is to know your audience. Not just know your audience, but know their journey too. So understand where your audience is starting from. You have to meet them where they're at. Then you need to understand where do they want to go, and then your content can bridge that gap between the two. But if you are just throwing content out there, like throwing spaghetti on the wall and hoping it sticks, that is a lot of wasted time, energy, bandwidth, that is going to burn you out before you actually get results, before you actually get anywhere. Trust me, I see it all the time, and I don't I mean, come to me when you're burnt out, but I want people to come to me before you get burnt out so that you don't get burnt out. Let's just avoid that all together, right? Wouldn't that be nice? So knowing your audience journey is another key thing to building your strategic messaging. And the last thing I'll say for now is to create a brand messaging guide. This document becomes your North Star, ensuring all of your content aligns with your brand's voice and your goals. I actually, earlier today, did a copy review within a paid mastermind group, and that was the number one question that most of them asked is, can you look at my website and can you look at my Instagram? And can you tell me, like, is this aligned? Am I showing up as the same person, both on my website and my Instagram. So a brand messaging guide is going to help you be consistent, no matter where you are showing up, and if you're like, What the heck is a brand messaging guide? Where do I even start with that? It is for free. It is included when you join my copy critique club, and that link is in the middle number for you, if you're interested in checking out that membership. And if you're like, Okay, this sounds great, but like, Where do I even start? I don't have time to do it for myself. I have a brand, messaging and positioning intensive. It is a one to two day time that we spend together. It's actually really only like 90 minutes on your part that I'm doing a lot of the legwork for you. And it's going to help you get crystal clear on your messaging. And it's going to be written down so that whether you want to delegate it, whether you want to use chat, GPT or AI of some other sort, what, however you want to create your content, it is all flowing from that messaging guide. So it's all on the same page. It ensures that every piece of content you produce feels aligned and authentic in in your voice, no matter who or what is writing it okay? So that in itself is gold right there. But let's dive in to the third and final for today, and that is to streamline with a copywriting system. Because without a system in place, you are always going to feel like you're never doing enough and that you should be doing more, right? I know, I know I've heard it too many times. I know that you're thinking it. One of the biggest contributors to burnout with content creation is trying to do it all yourself, trying to do it all. And the key to avoiding this is efficiency. When you streamline your processes, you can create content consistently without feeling overwhelmed or dancing on the edge of burnout. Not a good look for anyone. We don't want that. Okay, so how the heck do we do that first is repurpose your content. It is the ultimate life saver and time saver. Instead of constantly coming up with new ideas, feeling like you're always playing catch up or trying not to fall behind, you can just take one piece of pillar content and transform it into multiple formats. So for example, you can turn a blog post into a series of social media posts and pins on Pinterest. You can take a podcast episode or YouTube video, whichever you prefer, or actually you could take you do a YouTube video created into a blog episode, also turn it into an SEO blog post, then put that into smaller break that into smaller chunks, into emails and social posts as well, and then maybe Instagram is your thing. I know it's super popular, especially with a lot of you out there. All my clients basically are on Instagram. So here's what you can do if you prefer like, if it's easy and you already have a routine of like, I'm already posting the Instagram every day, but I know I want to show up in other places, but I don't have the capacity or bandwidth to do that, then let's do this. This is what I do with many of my clients. I take your best performing post of the week on Instagram, and I turn it into an email to your list, and then I can take that and expand upon it to become an SEO friendly blog, which then can also be shared on LinkedIn and medium.com, and pin to Pinterest or like wherever you want to show up. And the best part of all of this is that you are still the thought leader. It is still all coming from you. It is still your voice. You have not lost any of that. You still fully have the reins on what is being said and how it's being said. It's all still in your voice, and I've got some easy SOPs and workflows so that you don't have to manually do it all, because you, as the visionary of your company, should not be in the back end of like putting your show notes in your podcast or on your WordPress and like using Yoast, like that is my job. Let, let me do that as a visionary. You do not need to be in the weeds there. Okay, you are the thought leader. You let your team and your automations take care of all of that post post production. So this is a way where you still get to play to your strength. Like, if you love writing great, like, I can set you up with like an SEO outline, and you just fill in how you would say it, how you would respond to those questions or those topics. And then I can take that and do all the SEO things for you and get it posted, and get it repurposed and turn it into an email and turn it into a social post, and all the things that like, where you want to show up, but you again, as the visionary, should not be doing all of the repurposing of it. You are simply the thought leader and like, if you're stuck in the repurposing, you're getting lost in the weeds, and it's gonna be harder for you to continue to show up as the thought leader that you are and want and need to be if you're getting stuck in the weeds. So it is so essential that you outsource this to some capacity, whether you already have a team that can do it for you, and you want me to come in and just give you the SOPs and workflows customized to what you already have in place. We do that. If you don't have it yet, I can come in, build the system for you, and then we can figure out, okay, what do you want to DIY, what do you want to automate to AI, what do you still want a like human copywriters hand on? And we can balance, find a balance that feels good for you, because everyone has a different tolerance level or enjoyment level with when it comes to using AI. Okay, so next step you can do to streamline your copywriting system is to batch and schedule content. I know you know this already, but let me tell you this, I highly recommend taking walking meetings and only inviting yourself and otter. AI or your favorite transcription tool, mine is otter, and I have that linked in the show notes. If you're not there yet, okay, it is highly productive. Maybe it looks like you're walking around your neighborhood talking to yourself, but, you know, I got my earbuds so it could be I'm on a phone call. Nope, I'm just talking to otter, and it's recording what I what I'm saying. This is how I create content, because when you are just walking and talking, the content flows like I do not have writer's block when I'm just having a conversation or thinking out my thoughts, and then once it's all out of me, and I'm not worried about being perfect. I'm just talking. I'm just getting it out of my heart and my mind down onto paper, and it's so it's just transcribing my verbal thoughts. I'm verbalizing my thoughts. It's literally just a brain dump. And then once it's all out of me, then I come back and sit down on my computer, and all I need to do is edit that transcription right, because it's already my voice, because I was literally just talking how I talk, and then I can edit that into readable content. So better yet, hire a copywriter to do this for you. You go on the walk, you voice vomit the your thought leadership out of you, just send me the otter, and then I can take that and turn it into a blog, you know, an email, social posts, all of the things for you that is not something you as the visionary CEO, need to be doing okay. And then you can batch this. I can even give you Okay, talk about this, talk about this, and talk about that, and then you can just go on and, like, brain dump all of your thoughts on those things and and we can write multiple blogs or record several podcasts or videos all at once, and that way you're batched for the whole month, maybe in just an hour or two. Is all it takes you to have daily content coming out for that entire month. Amazing, right? Batching also helps you prevent task switching and helps you get more done in less time. Yes, please. So once you've created the content, then we can use scheduling apps to automate your publishing process. Again, that is something for myself or for your team to do, not you. And yes, there's a little more nuance to this scheduling and automating and repurposing, but the point is that it frees up mental space so that you can focus on other priorities. Okay? And then we talked about a little bit already, is the last step is to delegate or automate tasks. You do not have to do everything yourself. You can delegate tasks like editing, repurposing and scheduling to a trusted professional. Your job was to word vomit the thought leadership that is it. Do not do any more than that. After that, a good copywriter can turn all of that into the marketing assets that you desire and retain your unique and authentic voice. So by combining these strategies, you will not only save time and just the mental space that it takes to produce all of this, but it also ensures that your content marketing efforts run smoothly. It defines what is enough. It lets you know exactly what you need to do and about how much time you need to allow to do it, how much to time block for it and then be done with it, so you don't have to think about it for the rest of the week or the rest of the month, however far you want to get ahead. And my simple copy system build is designed to help you implement these strategies seamlessly, whether you already have a team and just need the system built, or you want me to help, come be on your team to help implement and execute the system for you. Okay, so today we are talking, we talked about how to create content consistently without sacrificing your sanity. So by shifting your focus to quality over quantity. At first,
Unknown:will build into the quantity you and building that strong foundation with
Megan Loehr:strategic messaging, and then streamlining your processes through repurposing, batching and delegation, you can stay consistent without the burnout, because remember that your audience does not need more content. They need better content. They need the content you produce to really be like, stand out in their mind and stuck in their head, like, dang, that was so smart. Or, man, I need more of this. Because that simple shift or tweak or way she thought about things was so smart. I need more of that, right? A bunch of low grade content like it doesn't matter how often you post it, it's just adding to the noise. It might actually make it things worse, right? If the content is not good. So you need to clear the space in your schedule and your mental space so that you can create super high quality content with intention and clarity. Because you're not just showing up online to show up, you're building an intentional and lasting connection with the people who matter most to your business. Okay, so if you are ready to scale your content strategy without the stress, let's work together, whether it's a copy system, build VIP day, a brand message or ongoing support. I am here to create, help you, create the content that works for you and your lifestyle. You.
