In this episode, we sit down with Jen Roway from Healthy Birth Days to talk about an exciting development in stillbirth prevention legislation: The BUMP Act. Recently introduced in North Carolina, the Building Understanding of Movement in Pregnancy Act is bipartisan legislation designed to ensure families receive clear, consistent information about fetal movement and warning signs — while improving provider response and addressing health disparities across the state.

The BUMP Act is built on three core principles: Educate, Train, and Empower. It would bring the Count the Kicks campaign statewide, standardize life-saving provider training, and make sure every expectant parent has access to evidence-based stillbirth prevention information.

We also share some exciting news — we will be heading to Washington, D.C. to bring awareness to National Stillbirth Prevention Day on September 19th. This is a powerful opportunity to take this conversation to a national stage and advocate for families across the country.

Progress may feel slow, but it is happening — and your voice matters more than ever.
