Behind the Numbers: Your Health, Your Data a Focus on the STEPS to a Well Bermuda Survey
Dear Listeners,
Have you ever wondered how public health and chronic disease NGOs health organizations develop programs to help the community? Many times this is done using population health surveys. The World Health Organization emphasizes that "Information about health, health risks and population distribution is a cornerstone of disease and disability prevention. It enables evidence-informed planning evaluation of health policies and preventive activities, which in turn help to keep the workforce fit while minimizing the level of health care required by an ageing population." Often times taking surveys may be daunting and feel invasive but participating in population health surveys can save lives, help people manage illness, and prevent chronic disease.
