Rerun ....... Fight the Bite: Mosquito Awareness
Dear Listeners,
July is mosquito awareness month. The aim of this observance is to highlight the dangers of mosquitos borne disease like dengue, chikungunya, Zika, malaria, and yellow fever, and to promote prevention by encouraging the reduction of mosquito breeding sites. Although some of these disease don't seem highly prevalent in Bermuda, prevention is still key. Outside of that, I know that I do no enjoy being bitten by mosquitos, the itchiness alone can be very annoying. Bermuda, we know that our weather is unpredictable and at any given time it rains, which may lead to have standing water in areas we're not aware of, which creates breeding grounds for mosquitos. One way to reduce mosquito breed is to check around your house after rain and ensure that there are no breeding areas. Listeners, this month lets remember to fight the bite!
