Would you agree that speech, language and hearing are crucial to how we communicate and connect as humans? Would you also agree that it is important to create services and spaces where all members of our community are included?

May is "Better Speech & Hearing Month. This observance was founded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The aim of Better Speech & Hearing Month is to increase awareness about communication disorders and hearing health and to also acknowledge the work that is being done by professionals in this area. This year the theme is “Connecting Through Communication,” which highlights the role that communication plays in every aspect of life. In addition to celebrating Better Speech & Hearing Month, every May 18th we celebrate National Speech - Language Pathologist (SLP) Month. Bermuda, join me in expressing gratitude to our SLP professionals in Bermuda for all of the work they do in this area.
