Dear Listeners,

August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. The main focus is to highlight the benefits of breastfeeding for babies and moms, promote breastfeeding friendly spaces, to promote breastfeeding when possible, and to promote the support of breastfeeding. Listeners, we know that nutrition is integral to chronic disease prevention and overall health, but nutrition starts at infancy and even before. Bermuda, during the month of August let's support our breastfeeding moms, advocate for breastfeeding friendly environments, and raise awareness around the benefits of breastfeeding.

This episode of Bermuda Health-Abets, a podcast where we discuss everything from A to Z on healthy living, is dubbed Breastfeeding & Beyond: Celebrating Breastfeeding with a Mom’s Voice #EmpoweringInformingandMotivating Bermuda residents to live well.

Our guests this episode is Allison Outerbridge, Public Health Nutritionist and a new mom who also breastfeeds. During this episode Allison talks about the benefits of breastfeeding, her expectations for breastfeed, her experience through out the breastfeeding process, challenges and highlights of breastfeeding,  her support system throughout the process and her perspective of her partners experience.  As you tune into this episode you will get real insight on a mom's experience with breastfeeding.
