Dear Listeners,

World site day was on October 9th and is observed annually on the second Thursday of October. The aim of this observance is to raise awareness about vision impairment, blindness, and the importance of eye health. It is also a reminder of the need for regular eye examinations, early detection and treatment of eye conditions, and access to eye care. It also highlights the effort to eliminate preventable blindness and improve the quality of life for individuals with vision loss. Bermuda, as you tune into this episode reflect on the purpose of this observance, and consider how this may impact our community and remember that those with vision loss or visual impairment are important members of our community. While listening to this episode remember that your eye health is important so regular screening and understanding lifestyle behaviors that cause preventable vision loss can save your eyes.
