Dear Listeners,
August is National Breastfeeding Month. This is a time to raise awareness for breastfeeding, express support for the moms in our community who are breastfeeding, highlight the programs and initiatives that support breast feeding, and to continue to advocate for policies and environments that make Breastfeeding the easy choice for moms who are able. This years theme as emphasized by the US breastfeeding committee is RISE - Resilience, Interdependence, Self-Determination, Empowerment (US Breastfeeding Committee, 2026). These words resonate for many moms in all that we do when it comes to raising our children, and none the truer when it comes to making the choice to breast feed. Moms', when the task of breastfeeding feels daunting look to your support people and services to help you navigate your journey.
