Speaker 1:

my name is sherry and welcome to my podcast, silver tea, and I want to start out this episode by thanking my friends and family for watching all of my podcast episodes. I started this podcast because I am a breast cancer survivor. I started this podcast by talking about my journey, my journey from the time they told me I had breast cancer To the surgery, to the chemo, to the radiation and now to the new me and I enjoyed making the podcast. They were great, they were fun. I enjoy sharing information. I talked about life. I talked about life. I talked about changes. I talked about eating habits, exercise. I talked about all those things, because you do change after going through all that and if you don't, you might want to. I talked I had a couple of formats, but I had three co-hosts on my podcast and one I really I liked all three of them my sister, donna Walker. I brought her on and we talked about family support. We talked about what it was like for her to deal with me or to not even and I don't want to say that as if it sounds negative I talked to Donna about what it was like after finding out I had breast cancer was like after finding out. I had breast cancer. We went over the black women dying at a higher rate than any other ethnic group. That's all in there. Check it out. Check out that episode. There's family support and I'm going to tell you, family support is the best and they don't have to be friends. Friends are considered family, right, we consider friends family. So if you got your friends and your family around, or just your family, the support of getting through this is that much more better mentally and emotionally. So check out that episode.

Speaker 1:

I also brought my son on another co-host. We talked about our relationship. What was it like for him? Because he was not only a co-survivor, he was also a caretaker. He was, he was so wonderful. I mean, he's like okay, mom, let me know if you need me to go to the store to do the night runs, if you need anything, I'm looking like. But he was there, he was ready, he was there with the support, there, with a positive attitude. He also helped with bandage changing because I had a wound from a port that was put in wrongly and got infected. Who was there there? Steven, venus, donna, they were all there taking care of me. Steven and I talked about how it affects our relationship. Did it change it for the good or did it change it for the worse? You have to go and check it out. And we also talked about some of his hobbies and things that he likes to do. Yeah, I forgot to mention that with Donna Because Donna, she started her own studio. She has three businesses running at one time and she's doing good and I will have her on for next season to talk about that the start of her journey on opening up a business that has three different components in it. So that was, that was Donna and Steven.

Speaker 1:

I later brought on my friend, ayetta. Ayetta is great. I talked to Ayetta about living life every day, all day long, with chronic pain All day long With chronic pain. Her story was so interesting Because I talked about medicines that they give you After You're done with all the the radiation that medicine Cause chronic pain, joint pain. So I wanted to know what Are you doing to help with your chronic pain? What is life like with chronic pain? And Aieta gave her life story and let me tell you it was very interesting, so you should go check it out.

Speaker 1:

It's a podcast that's called Living Life with Chronic Pain. Now Aieta, she doesn't want to be on the camera, so I had to do hers audio only, while mine was camera. I had to learn how to work new equipment. I got it right. I got it right, but no, I did. I did mess it up a little bit Now that I think about it because I was kind of low and Aieta was kind of loud, but she was the highlight of this whole podcast. Sydney that she was the highlight of the whole episode. So as long as you hear her and what she has to say, I think you'll be, it'll be very dressing for you. So then I moved on and I would, and I was doing podcasts on how I am managing with this medicine that I have to take for the next 10 years.

Speaker 1:

I talked about walking. I showed you and talked about how I did. I didn't have all of my mobility while going through chemo some of my, I lost some of my um. Walking I couldn't walk. I had to walk with a stick. I could not stand up. I could barely get across the room, but what I did was I could not stand up, I could barely get across the room, but what I did was I watched a YouTube video, learned some exercises, strengthened those knees and now today I'm walking without any assistance and that's also in that video.

Speaker 1:

You should go check it out. It's called. I got to remember all. You should go check it out. It's called. I got to remember all Walking, getting it in and that's episode 5. Go check it out. You know what I liked about that? I enjoyed Getting out and doing the footage so I can share the information with you. I went out, I filmed it, I brought it, I edited it, I used the editor, I used a video editor and I was able to bring it in so you guys can see me while I was doing the episode. So I really do like when I do do episodes by myself, I like to capture footage and share with you.

Speaker 1:

I also talked about tea. I talked about tea twice. If you haven't noticed, the name of my podcast is Silver Tea. Why is it called Silver Tea? My favorite precious metal is silver and I love, love, love tea. So I talked about tea and how tea can help you with focus and and pain, and what tea I use and how I use them. That's all in that episode. You should go check it out. It's in the episode called my three favorite teas. Well, it's still my three favorite teas and I did a lot of a lot of footage and capturing film and bringing it in. You gotta remember I started my podcast with no knowledge of how to do a film editor, so I'm super proud of myself. So I mentioned these because I was the full team. I did the footage, the video edit. I did the whole thing. I was the full team. I did the footage, the video edit. I did the whole thing. I did the whole production and I'm learning and I'm getting better.

Speaker 1:

In my last video, my last podcast, was talking about tea and plastic. Now I just said I love tea. Well, tea is so vitally important to me because it helps me with my different moods so vitally important to me because it helps me with my different moods but little did I know that there are companies out there making their tea bags out of plastic. So I don't. I don't want to drink tea with plastic. So I did a whole. I think it was like 30 minutes.

Speaker 1:

That podcast, that episode was like 30 minutes. I think it was like 30 minutes. That podcast, that episode was like 30 minutes, but it talked about plastic in your tea and how it affects you on a health level. How does it affect you? I talked about it. We should be concerned. We should be sounding the alarm about tea or plastic, because I just want to have a good cup of tea without plastic in it.

Speaker 1:

So I talked about some of the episodes that I did, but I'm asking you to go check them all out, because you can binge watch, you can do all that and I will be back for season number two with more and new exciting episodes. I will be talking to a mother who is who has a child that has severe autism. She will share her information with you. I'm going to be talking to Donna, who's a new business owner.
