WE MOVE MOUNTAINS
Episode 39: The missing pieces in your healing journey with Charlie Brittain
If you’ve ever experienced a physical challenge (which we all do - as it’s part of having a body..!), then you’ll probably relate…
When I was starting out my movement journey, I used to feel like I was hitting my head against the wall. Looping inside that same way of moving. Falling into the same tension. Stretching, going to the osteo, doing it all ‘right’ - yet nothing really changed.
The thing I was missing at the time - something I now understand deeply is this - and I hope it offers you some insight and empowerment with whichever challenge might be coming your way:
A physical challenge is kinda like a puzzle.
And you wouldn’t still be in the problem if you had all the pieces.
Trying to do more of the same - trying to force together puzzle pieces that were never meant to fit - won’t get you far. What actually helps is changing how you see the whole thing.
And the best advice I can give you is this:
The problem is usually not where you think it is.
For example, pain in your neck is a symptom.
The root cause often lies somewhere else entirely - your pelvis, your chest...
Try softening those places a little. Search for less tension in different body parts - you’ll see that some of them bring such a sense of relief to where you’re feeling tension or limitation…
I know it’s counterintuitive, but the less you focus on the body part where you feel stuck, the more likely you are to find the missing pieces.
If you want to truly find that sense of physical relief and freedom that comes when the pieces of the puzzle falls into place - jump into this week’s podcast episode of WE MOVE MOUNTAINS!
It’s a conversation with Charlie Brittain - a rehabilitation expert - about those golden trove missing pieces of the puzzle, about what healing is really about.
