One More Thing

Beneath Mom Rage with Minna Dubin and Sarah Harmon

Mama Beasts Season 1 Episode 2

"Rage" and "mothers" aren't supposed to mix. Yet, for many of us, quietly boiling anger rose to the surface during the pandemic, overflowing into our homes, lives and relationships.

Enter writer Minna Dubin and therapist Sarah Harmon. Through different mediums, both examined and provided solutions for mom rage at a time when many women were struggling with an often misunderstood and highly judged emotion.

Minna first wrote about mom rage in a 2019 personal essay and then a reported article during the pandemic. She went on to publish a full book on the issue: Mom Rage, an examination of the hidden crisis of rage with real stories from mothers and solutions how to address it.

Sarah, a therapist and founder of School of Mom, led the primal mom screams in the Boston area that went viral, garnering national media coverage and bringing awareness to the immense stress loads mothers were carrying during the pandemic.

We chatted with Minna and Sarah not only about what mom rage is and how to cope, but what lurks underneath. From grieving a past identity to lack of societal support, mom rage is layered and complex. Listen to this important conversation any time.
