In this episode, I talk about what you need to do FIRST before strength training; especially lifting heavy.

Building a strong foundation, mastering movements that replicate ADL's (Acts of Daily Living) abd being consistent, are essential pieces before adding load (i.e. weights).

Getting enough protein and rest are the building blocks of muscle.

Working with a skilled professional that understands the changes of menopause, your lifestyle, your schedule and also any movement limitations or injuries, is important so you can progress safely.

Yes, it is important to lift and lift heavy, in order to build muscle and protect your bones because you are fighting the clock in muscle loss. However, if you don't have a strong foundation, you put yourself at further risk.
