Episode #62 Using Technology to Improve Movement Efficiency and Understanding Biomechanics with Driveline's Anthony Brady
*SHOW TIMESTAMPS FEATURED AT THE END*
In this episode Gerry welcomes Driveline Baseball Biomechanist Anthony Brady. Anthony works with pitchers in an effort to help them improve their movement efficiency, overall mechanics and determine their unique training and pitching needs.
To start, Gerry and Anthony sift through some of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to technology in baseball, motion capture technology and weighted ball training. From how motion capture technology works and the benefits it can have in assessing movement (especially in pitchers), how biomechanics can lead decision making and training and weighted balls being for far more than throwing hard, Anthony dispels all common thoughts on baseball and training's hottest topics.
From there, Anthony discusses his baseball and pitching journey, his two "Tommy John," surgeries and what he learned from them, as well as how he trained while playing and what he would change (running less and lifting more). Gerry then has Anthony talk about the storied "Summer '16," at Driveline and how he, Eric Jagers and Rob Hill (amongst others) left it all on the line with their own throwing training and how that lead them to the forefront and top of Baseball development at both Driveline and in Professional Baseball.
