The Healing Project Podcast
We are here to share another side of the story of dating in your 30s. Through stories, laughter, tears and learning we want you to come along the journey with us as we navigate the chaotic world of relationships. Sometimes you just need to know that you’re not alone in the painful parts of life and that someone gets it. We’re here for that.
We are two counsellors using hope, laughter and authenticity to navigate this tricky part of life. We live busy, fulfilling lives while desiring to find the type of love that changes you. We both have plenty of experience in the ups and downs of dating & single life. We hope to share our stories of love, bravery, failure, heartbreak and hard earned wisdom.
We don’t apologise for our faith.
We don’t apologise for swearing.
We don’t apologise for being brave with our lives
And we don’t apologise for knowing what we deserve and not settling for less.
We hope that as you listen to our stories that you find a piece of your own story amongst them. Ultimately that is what it is all about right? While we are searching and connecting with the people meant to be in our lives we are also making sure we never lose ourselves along the way. So, I hope you join us on this journey as we navigate life, love, heartbreak, grief and joy. We see you out there and we’re with you.

Trusting Your Gut: How Do We Reconnect With Our Intuition After We've Been Through Trauma
Content warning: This episode includes discussions about emotional and psychological abuse. If you need support, please contact 1800RESPECT in Australia, or reach out to your local GP for further psychological assistance
In this episode, Alyssa and Skye dive into the journey of learning to trust our intuition and the challenges of navigating the different parts of ourselves. They discuss how emotional pain can trigger our nervous systems to react as if we’re in real physical danger, and how this impacts our ability to trust our instincts. The conversation explores the importance of therapy in helping us meet and befriend these various parts of ourselves, in order to hear their wisdom.
Alyssa shares valuable insights about the role of therapy: it's about guiding you back to your true self. She explains that through trauma, grief, and pain, we may lose pieces of ourselves, but those parts are never truly gone. The healing process is about rediscovering and reconnecting with who we really are, as apposed to becoming a new version of ourselves.
