Made For Birth; The VBAC Podcast For Birth After Cesarean

75- The Birth That Changed Her: Baylee’s CBAC as a Labor & Delivery Nurse

Episode 75

In this powerful episode, Baylee, a labor and delivery nurse pulls back the curtain on her two cesarean births—and the emotional and personal growth that came with each one.

Her first birth happened early in her nursing career. She trusted the process, trusted the staff, and expected her induction to unfold with guidance and support. Instead, she was met with fear-based messaging, pressure to comply, and decisions made without truly informed consent. The result? A cesarean she didn’t feel prepared for—physically or emotionally.

Her second birth was different.

Yes, it ended in the OR again—but this time, everything had changed.

She found VBAC-supportive care, hired a doula, asked hard questions & advocated for what mattered most

And while her second cesarean wasn’t the VBAC she had planned, it was family-centered, respectful, and deeply healing.

We talk about:

  • What informed consent should actually feel like
  • The emotional layers of a CBAC
  • Why the way you’re treated matters more than how you give birth
  • And how you can reclaim your power, even when birth takes an unexpected turn

This isn’t just a story of two cesareans. It’s a story of clarity, confidence, and what happens when you finally feel seen in the birth room.

Baylee is a wife, mama of 2, and an OB nurse. Her passion lies within supporting other mamas through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. She aspires to become a CNM thanks to God guiding her path with each birthing experience. Sharing her story on this podcast is another way God is using her for good.
