4 Hacks to Build a Quick Workout in Your Morning Routine

Lindy Schlabach - Christian Mindset & Weight Loss Coach Season 1 Episode 74

First off you have to make a choice to give up your excuses, which isn't always easy. It's a daily choice to move when you don't want to. Hoping these 4 tips will help you build a quick workout in your morning routine!

1. Get up 15-20 minutes early 1-2 days a week to start and have your workout clothes and shoes ready to go!

2. Do a miracle morning. Every morning, I pray first, read the bible, journal 3 things I'm grateful for with a prayer, drink lots of coffee and ask God what I need for my morning. Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find.

3. Find a workout you actually enjoy! It should challenge you but if you hate every exercise you've gotta ask God to heal that part of your brain. We were made to move, so move!

4. Drink your preworkout and just start! It's going to take 5 minutes to get going, that's normal. If you haven't worked out in awhile, your body will be shocked. Keep going! Your feelings aren't important here, doing what God calls you to, is. So pray, listen and obey!

If you want something you've never had you have to do something you've never done. You are worth it! If you want help, join the Biblical Weight Loss Framework and let's heal your insides so you can heal your outsides and walk in your God-given purpose!

Exercise is therapy, cheap, beneficial therapy. It feels good, even in the struggle. Pray for strength and watch God move!

A few months ago, we brought home our baby girl, and our world was forever changed in the best way.

I've had to rework my morning routine to make baby my most precious priority without sacrificing what I know God requires of me, not just for health, but for my sanity.

A good sweat, no matter where you're finding yourself in life, if you want to bust out a quick workout in the morning, grab your pen and notebook, and here are four hacks I've used to bust out a quickie in the morning.

Are you sick of trying diet after diet and not losing weight?

Are you tired of doubting your ability to actually lose weight in a healthy way?

Do you wish you could find a laid out for you plan that will help you stay accountable to your goals?

Hey friend, I'm Lindy Schlabach, Christian Fitness & Nutrition Coach.

I gained 100 pounds in my late 20s and struggled for years to get it off.

So, grab your pre-workout and let's chat.

What it is to try one more thing, but pray and seek God's direction and trust that He will show up for you in a mighty way.

Pray over the Biblical Weight Loss Framework.

You deserve to love your body and feel good in her.

You are not alone.

You can turn to God and seek His will in your weight loss journey.

I want to invite you to the Biblical Weight Loss Framework and take a Holy Spirit led approach to weight loss God's way.

This five step proven formula will give you a step by step approach to healing your mind so you can heal your body and walk in your God given purpose.

Listen, I've lost over 90 pounds in my journey.

I know how hard it is, but you do not have to do this alone.

So how is everyone today?

Oh, this has been a legit struggle for me, bringing home our newly adopted precious baby girl.

I'm a creature in habit and I love my routines.

But God has revealed to me how legalistic and selfish I've been, having to have my way in doing certain things.

I found myself eight pounds heavier after bringing our little peanut home.

So I've had to figure out a way how to get into a new routine with a tiny baby, knowing that she is my first and foremost priority, and that exercise is really a way for me to be a better mom.

It sets a good example for her.

Sometimes when she's awake and I'm doing my workout, I'll put her in her little jumper seat and she will watch me wide-eyed through the entire thing.

Sometimes I put her in her harness and strap her to the front of me and do a workout.

These are things I want to teach her as she grows up.

Here are a couple of things that you can do if you want to create a quick workout habit in the mornings.

Step one, you're going to get out 15 to 20 minutes earlier, but you're going to start just one to two days a week.

Listen, I have worked with women and weight loss for over eight years.

When we try to do an all or nothing approach, it never works.

Give yourself grace one step at a time.

We're going to start with one to two days a week.

I do not recommend starting on a Monday.

If you love Thursdays, start on a Thursday.

We're going to pick one to two days a week to start.

Have your workout clothes and your shoes, if you need them, ready so that in the morning, you can get dressed and get to it.

When we are prepared, we can get to it quicker, and we're less likely to make excuses.

Step two, the second my eyes open, I drink my water and do my miracle morning.

I pray, I read my word, I drink my coffee, obviously, and I journal.

In my prayer time, I'll ask God, should I workout or eat first?

It's not usually the same answer every day, but he always tells me what to do.

Start praying first thing and let him guide you.

If you're lifting weights, you always want to eat first.

I'm doing a bar program that's about 30 minutes and it doesn't require shoes.

I either eat or I don't.

It just depends on what the baby is doing.

Step three, pick a workout you enjoy.

It should not be easy.

You should be challenged, but you should not dread it.

You should not be in so much pain that you can't physically move.

Now listen, if you just dread all the workouts, it's time to ask God to remove those thoughts from your head.

Your body was created to move.

So sometimes we have to dig down and figure out what the trigger is that's keeping you stuck in your emotional relationship with exercise.

I know how hard it is, but these are things you have to do.

I know at 250 pounds that first workout I did, I could not complete the warm up.

I couldn't.

I sat on the edge of my couch and I cried and I said very unkind and horrible things to myself.

I was a competitive dancer for 10 years.

I was very involved in my community.

I was a softball player.

I played sports in school.

I was not a 250 pound person who couldn't complete a warm up.

I went to the gym three to four days a week in college.

But just keep going.

One step, one forward step makes a huge difference.

We are about consistency, not perfection.

So give yourself some grace, find a workout you enjoy, and just have fun.

Drink your pre-workout.

Drink your pre-workout.

Beachbody has a great option.

If you need some help, hit me up.

Drink your pre-workout and go.

Even if you're on the struggle bus, just get started.

Once you get started on your workout, your body and brain are gonna need about five minutes to figure out what the heck you're doing, especially if you're new to exercise.

So don't give up.

One step, one rep at a time.

You can do this.

Getting up early to exercise for 15 to 30 minutes is a choice.

Hitting snooze is a choice.

God will tell you what to do.

Then you have to decide if you're gonna walk in obedience towards the goal you've set for yourself or if you're gonna stay stuck in your excuses again.

Doing the hard thing is a brave choice.

Most people quit.

Quitting is easy.

But what if we quit on our marriages?

What if we quit on parenting or work because it got hard?

It's all hard.

God never promised us easy.

He said in this world, you will have trouble, but take heart of overcome the world and he will overcome your workouts as well.

You've got to stop quitting on yourself.

Start praying for resurrection power and let God give you what you need to make this part of your morning routine.

Pretty soon, it will be the best part of your day.

Trust me, 250-pound me did not want to work out.

It was painful, frustrating, and hard.

But one day, one choice, one step, one move at a time, and I got stronger and leaner.

Today, I'm over 90 pounds down and I cannot wait to get my workout on each day.

It's my therapy.

It feels good.

It brings me closer to God and it can be the same for you.

If you need help taking a biblical approach to your weight loss, join the biblical weight loss framework and let's work to heal your insides so you can heal outside and walk boldly.

It lights me up to know this podcast is helping you.

Okay, it's time to go make a protein shake and get my sweat on.

No more standing in the kitchen waiting for motivation to appear.

I will meet you back here for another episode.
