J. Patrick Lemarr, the son of a Southern Baptist minister and a school teacher, found solace in comic books and children’s fiction from a young age. His love for writing began in high school, growing through poetry and college creative writing courses. After significant personal loss, including the deaths of his parents and younger brother, Lemarr channeled his grief into poetry, resulting in his first book, I Am a Broken House (2011). He then shifted to genre fiction, creating the Tales of the Evermore series and compiling his short stories in Shadow Plays (2018). In 2022, he published All That Waits in the Night and The Christmas Cabin, and in 2024, he offered a free novella introducing new characters to his expanding universe. Now living in Indiana with his wife and children, Lemarr writes horror and fantasy for Write Crowd Publishing and his Patreon supporters.
