George Shaffer has extensive experience in the practice of management and leadership in industrial and academic settings. As Senior Director of Executive Education at the Darden School of Business, at UVA, he was the principal Darden executive responsible for developing corporate universities and education programs for Fortune 500 companies. including United Technologies Corporation. George served as the Chairman of the Deacons at First Baptist Church Charlottesville, VA.
Tricia (Trish) Hicks is a wife, mother, and grandma. She is also a writer, speaker, singer, professional editor, and alumna of Liberty University. After many years of church ministry alongside her husband, Don, Trish brings her experience, knowledge, and wisdom to help and encourage others in their journey of faith. Born in Pereira, Colombia, on March 12, 1994, he spent his early years in Barcelona, Spain, after relocating there in 1997. At age seventeen, he moved to the United States in November 2011 and settled in Florida. He earned an associate degree in arts and sciences in December 2016, followed by a bachelor’s degree in Religious, Theology, and Bible Study from Liberty University in December 2019. He completed a Master of Divinity with a chaplaincy focus in spring 2026.
January 2017 marked a pivotal season in his life as he married his wife, Madison, on January 28 and entered the United States Air Force on February 7. He continues to serve as a Religious Affairs Airman. Together, they have four children: Nathanael (July 2017), Isabella (March 2019), Lylamae (May 2022), and Elijah (July 2024).
Dr. Jeff Ginn serves as the senior ambassador for US and Global Relations at the International Mission Board (IMB). Prior to this role, he was IMB’s vice president of Mobilization. Ginn previously served as the leader for IMB work in all Latin America, building upon his foundation as a field missionary and church planter. For more than 20 years prior to that, Ginn pastored local churches of varying sizes in Mississippi, Virginia, and Louisiana. Ginn’s prior roles include executive director of the SBC of Virginia and a trustee both for the IMB and Liberty University. Dr. Ginn is a graduate of Williams Baptist University, Blue Mountain Christian University, and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as a faculty member and adjunct faculty member of various seminaries. He and his wife, Nell, have three children and six grandchildren. Frank Gonzalez serves as the Lead Pastor of Calvary Chapel North Lakes. He has faithfully served in vocational ministry for more than three decades in a variety of pastoral roles throughout the United States, as well as as a missionary pastor within the European Union. His passion is to faithfully teach God’s Word, equip believers for the work of ministry, and shepherd those entrusted to his care toward knowing God deeply and walking in His will.
Frank is a graduate of the Calvary Chapel School of Ministry (2000) and earned a Master of Arts in Ministry and Leadership from Western Seminary in 2024. He received a Doctor of Ministry degree at Liberty University in 2026.
Frank and his wife Suzie have been married since 2002 and have been faithfully serving together in ministry ever since and will continue doing so until the Lord calls them home!
Frank and Carol Landrey moved to Lynchburg, Virginia in 1981. They have four daughters, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-nine greats. In 1992, Frank founded Missions in Action, Inc., a 501c3, became head Men’s Golf Coach for Liberty University while still serving as Landrey’s Famous Foods representative. He was known as “The BBQ Man.” Landrey’s Barbecue was served at many Subways, Dairy Queens and restaurants in thirty states before being sold in 1996. he was president for thirty-one years. This allowed him to focus on Liberty University’s golf program for a total of twelve years securely establishing a Division I, NCAA, golf program.
Frank has a Bachelor of Science degree, a master’s in ministry degree, a Master of Arts Counseling degree and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Gavina TICA’S Philippines Pastoral School and Seminary.
Jeff Connell is a seasoned theologian, apologist, Marine Corps veteran, and trusted ministry mentor whose life reflects deep commitment, discipline, and a passion for strengthening the local church. A 22‑year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Jeff brings a steady, principled, mission‑focused presence to every pastor and leader he serves. Jeff has served as a deacon, Transitional Pastor, small group leader, and church conflict consultant with Dr. Don Hicks.
Following his military career, Jeff pursued advanced theological training, completing all but the dissertation (ABD) in the PhD program in Theology and Apologetics at Liberty Theological Seminary. His blend of academic rigor and real‑world ministry experience has shaped him into a respected “personal theologian” for pastors seeking biblical clarity and wise counsel.

Luis serves as the Adult Ministry Pastor at Thomas Road. Before joining the TRBC staff in 2016, he served as a youth pastor for 12 years in FL and NC. Luis’ heart for others is demonstrated as he connects them to Life Groups and through discipleship. Luis has been married for 24 years to his wife, Jennifer, who serves as the Director of Resident Life at Liberty University. They have two beautiful children, Sophia (Senior at Liberty University) and Nate (Sophomore at Liberty University). Luis enjoys mentoring the next generation of church leaders, leading teams on short-term mission trips, making Cuban food with his family, and enjoying laughter in fellowship with friends.

Matt Bonnett is a worship pastor and active team developer for multiple ministries and has served in various ministry roles in full time ministry for the past 20 years. He has his degree in Worship Leadership with an emphasis on leadership and biblical studies from Liberty University and joined Dr. Rumrill at Thomas Road Baptist Church in the planting and development of Dan River Church and along with other worship team development church plant ministries at Thomas Road. Matt has an expertise in the development of systems and processes that can directly engage the culture and mission of local churches and has used that skill in a singular focus context until 2022 where God called him to invest into the local small, medium, and large churches in ways he had served his previous congregations. This has involved work with Liberty University, different state conventions, and numerous ministries across the US.
Bro. Nathe Ozment has been the lead pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Halls, TN. since 2007. He recently finished his Master of Religion degree from Liberty University with an emphasis on counseling. He and his wife Mona have four sons. He has a passionate heart to see others come to know Christ as their Lord. God has worked through him in a powerful way, and he continues to lead the church to honor Him in all they do. He also is a Chaplain Dyersburg Police and Sheriffs Dept. He Loves Fishing and Hunting.
Pastor David Lones is a Pastor, Bible teacher and shepherd with a passion for helping leaders rediscover the joy of walking closely with Jesus. He serves the church through preaching, teaching, and developing spiritual formation resources centered on abiding in Christ. He serves as the Pastor at Good Spring Baptist Church in East Tennessee.
Paxton Bryant is a Digital Media and Journalism major student with a passion for faith, family, and community. He has a love for the Lord and enjoys sharing that with others through podcasting, social media, and daily interactions. Paxton aspires to live a life obedient to Christ whether that is through ministry or journalism.
Shawn Stricklin is one of the pastors on staff at Westwood Baptist Church. He has been married to the love of his life, Shawn Tay Stricklin, for more than 32 years. They have two adult children, Dylan and Paige, and five grandbabies that bring boundless joy to their lives. Pastor Stricklin has been on staff at Westwood since 2018 and participates in or oversees the following ministries: RU Addiction Recovery, Discipleship, Missions, Caregiving, Senior Saints, and The Timothy Foundation. He holds an Associate of Arts in psychiatry and psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, a Master of Arts in Ministry Supervision, and a Master of Theological Studies from Midwestern Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in pastoral and ministry supervision at Liberty University.
