Welcome to the Elite Business Connector Podcast. I'm your host, Ryan Paul Buckley, husband of one, father of five, and on a mission to help you develop and master your business social skills. So, what is episode 000? This is the unofficial, off-the-record, Between Us Girls episode going all triple zero on you. This is the underground episode to give you the 411 of all things Elite Business Connector podcast. In this episode, you're going to learn a little more about me. Who's the ideal listener? The rhythm of this podcast, the length of each episode, the five tones, topics, overview of the topics we're going to be covering, and then a sneak peek at future episodes. I know, I know. I give and I give from the very start here, and just feeling generous in this specific episode. So let's dive right in. Well hello about me. I'm Brian Paul Buckley. And as mentioned, I'm a husband of one and father of five with four boys and one daughter who smack dab right in the middle. And we call it the Rose Among Thorns. Where we have two golden retrievers named Early and Oakley, and we live in the Chicagoland suburbs. I'm also a Chicago sports loyalist, which should tell you a lot about my loyalties and um yeah, about them. I've also written three books on business travel, Elite Road War, six energy habits to master the business travel life. If you're a road war, there's almost 100 episodes of the Elite Road War podcast that you can listen to as well. My second book is on leadership for the business travel, and it's called Elite Business Travel Boss, the unwritten success guide for leading business travel teams. And my last and most recent current book out there right now is The Road War after God's own heart, exploring six seasons of King David's life through a business traveler's eyes. And my fourth book is called Elite Business Connector, How to Develop and Master Business Social Skills. And this podcast is based on this specific book. Who's the ideal listener for this podcast? Well, business professionals who interact with people on a regular basis. So things sales, customer service, hospitality, real estate would be ideal listeners. But really, anyone who wants to improve their business social skills with people that can benefit from this podcast too. The show rhythm. Well, do all just talking to you. I don't want to do all interviews. So we've got a conglomerate going in right there. The show rhythm. Well, the unnumbered episodes are content-driven, and the even numbered episodes will be interviews with subject matter experts. I want you to learn from me, but also from subject matter experts from authors to professional connectors. Well, why not all content? Why not all interviews? Well, I like both. And I figured you may like the variety as well. Show links. Well, I'm not a fan of long episodes for a couple different reasons. I'm usually on the road and don't prefer taking three different links. I'm not a fan of long episodes personally, um, for a couple different reasons. I'm usually on the road and don't prefer taking three different time frames to listen to just one episode that I've got to finish. Second one is my attention span. I have letters on the back of my name, but not PhD, but ADHD. So maybe that's gonna kind of give you the cue of why we're probably gonna average around the 30-minute mark. Sometimes it's gonna be maybe 20 minutes on the content different ones, maybe a little bit more 35 to 40, possibly with the subject matter experts. But it's just gonna be right around that 30-minute mark there to value your time and kind of get in and get out, and nobody gets hurt. The tone. Well, five different tones we've got. One is informational. I want you to learn useful information that you can use and apply right away. I hope it's encouraging. I want you to feel like you you can do something with the information that we're gonna make you better. Uh third is challenging. I I don't want you to stay in the same place. I want you to feel challenged and apply what you're learning that you again can feel encouraged, but also just nudge forward. Storking, if that's such a word there. Um I like one-liners. I feel just joking around, but uh just kind of a nice banter back and forth that you can enjoy. And lastly, entertaining. I'm a fan of the funny, so I hope you get a chance to just give a little bit of a laugh here and there and enjoy this podcast all the way through. Topics. Well, we're gonna range a whole bunch of topics because it's gonna be down first impressions to humor, to listening skills, to asking questions. How do you remember names, small talk? All those are topics that we're gonna unpack. But where do they really fall under three specific folk areas? Those topics fall under really three big focus areas that we're gonna unpack all through the existence of the Elite Business Connector Podcast. Focus area number one is communication. And it starts right here by communicating in a way that encourages, well, the second focus area, which is conversation, all our topics led into three specific focus areas. Number one is communication, which is all about me. Learning how to communicate in a way that encourages the focus area number two, which is conversation, which is about you or me. And that we really want to find that small talk that can lead to smart talk, which eventually moves into the focus area number three, which is connection, which is all about us, with the goal of getting episode 002 will be dealing with our first subject matter expert, Scott Modsley, who's been in leadership for over 20 plus years. You're gonna learn a ton from this guy. Episode 003, then we're gonna start unpacking the second one of our Elite Business Connector Focus Aries conversation, all about you or me. 004, another interview, 005 will be on connection. You kind of see how this whole podcast uh unpacked itself. And then lastly, we have links and resources that'll be in every single episode that you'll find in the show notes. Nothing worse than you get into a show, you'll listen to something about a book or a quote or anything that's gonna be useful of a product, and they're now listening to the show notes, you have no idea where to find them. So we won't make sure that we've got all of those along with them. If we're dealing with four specific things, you'll see those four specific things in the show notes as well. So, well, this official episode, well, unofficially, we could say, is officially in the books, and and out nobody got hurt, and all of the episode 000 gets excited. Kind of what we're headed with the Elite Business Connector podcast in the coming weeks and months. I'm available for your questions, comments, talking about uh I mean ideas, and you can find me specifically right at my own individual email address, which is Brian B R Y N at Brianpaulbuckley.com. And like my father used to say, thanks for coming, but most of all, thanks for leaving. I'm out and you got this now. Communication stuff lead to a connection of it. You got it.
