Join us as we explore this profound possibility with Sarah Irwin, a talented medical intuitive and healer in our Body Wisdom Academy community. Together, we uncover the often-neglected power of somatic healing and its critical role in processing trauma stored within the body. Sarah offers her perspective on the intense energies currently swirling around us, likening them to a global spiritual awakening leading to fresh beginnings. Our conversation dives deep into the uncertainties of spiritual growth and the necessity of trusting the unfolding process without needing all the answers.
Personal stories of awakening take center stage as we recount our own paths from lives bound by societal expectations to ones enriched by authenticity. A personal tale of triumph begins with a traumatic car accident that led to a misaligned existence, only to be reshaped through holistic practices and the guidance of a shaman's apprentice. Emphasizing the interconnectedness of healing, we reflect on how our journeys have reshaped not only our own lives but also our relationships, underlining how internal transformations ripple outward, affecting the people around us.
The episode crescendos with a compelling discussion on the art of energetic cord cutting for emotional healing. Through vibrant dreams and spiritual practices, we reclaim our energy by identifying and releasing these cords that connect us to others. Illustrating the impact of these practices, we share personal stories and case studies, highlighting the need for a holistic and individualized approach. As we wrap up, we express our gratitude for the enriching exchange of ideas, offering our listeners a treasure trove of resources to further explore the topics that resonated most.

Welcome back to another episode of the Body Wisdom Academy. My name is Alyssa For those of you who are new. I am your host and in this podcast, we discuss all things to do with spiritual development navigating a spiritual awakening, doing the deep inner work, holistic healing, so that we can be on our mission, living our life's greatest purpose and be of service in this time of great transformation on the planet. And in this episode I had my friend, sarah Irwin join me, who is a very gifted medical intuitive. She is actually a healer in my online community, so if you want to learn more about that, it's called the Body Wisdom Academy. I'll link it in the show notes. We have group calls every single month, so I lead two of those group calls every second Saturday for two hours long, and we focus on different themes. So we just finished up shadow work. Now we're going into ancestral healing for the next three months, and everything that we do in this community is focused through the lens of somatic healing months, and everything that we do in this community is focused through the lens of somatic healing. So coming home to our bodies, working with the trauma stored in our bodies, working with our inner parts, our inner landscape for deep transformation and healing. It's an approach that's very much missing in most traditional models of therapy. So, again, you can learn more about that in the show notes. And then we also have healers come in every single month and Sarah is one of those healers. She'll actually be coming into our community in February and she blends a lifetime of deep intuitive insight with over a decade of nursing experience, and her unique combination of skills enhances her ability to perceive and address underlying health issues, guiding clients towards up leveling their body and energy into 5d consciousness and overall optimal performance and wellness.
Speaker 1:I had the opportunity to actually see her in work, very briefly. She actually joined in on one of our group calls on Saturday and one of the girls was dealing with like pressure headaches and she was actually able to guide her through that. She can see energy. It's really powerful. So it's really cool to actually see her in her practice, in her work. She's just so gifted and she's just such a bright light and I just love being in her energy field, around her. You can feel it very potently online, so I can't imagine what it feels like in person. I haven't had the opportunity to actually meet her in person yet, but she offers shamanic healing sessions, dna activation healing, reiki, oracle readings, intuitive medical readings and more.
Speaker 1:And in this episode we talked about our own spiritual awakening, spiritual bypassing. We talked about our own spiritual awakening, spiritual bypassing, doing the deep inner work to heal karmic ties, trauma bonds and, yeah, you'll really like this episode if this topic interests you, the topic of energy healing, the topic of spiritual awakening and doing this deep spiritual work, and also just navigating the intense energies that we're experiencing on the planet right now. So let's get into this episode. So, sarah, I don't know how you're feeling right now with all the intensity and the chaos going on in the world. How are you feeling with everything?
Speaker 2:I feel so different one minute to the next. Sometimes I'm feeling calm and as though everything is settling into place. In the next minute it's complete chaos. It's like Baba Yaga comes in and she just destructs everything and whips away any masks that we've been wearing, any uncertainties that we've kind of convinced ourself are not actually uncertainties and just the natural rhythm of things and how things are supposed to go, and she kind of pulls that rugged from underneath of us.
Speaker 2:And I feel like, with everything going on in the world, you know, our sure footing has been a little bit disrupted, but not in the sense that I feel like it was even a couple months ago. Like a couple months ago, if I had this sensation, this feeling of what's going on in the world and even what's going on in my personal life, I would have been probably like on the ground, being like what's going on. But there's this hope that I'm finding has re-arisen through all of this and this assurance I can't really explain it it's that feeling of everything's going to be okay, Like we got your back. Just trust it. Just trust that the smoke and mirrors are falling and what's truly meant to be is coming forth.
Speaker 2:And this is a new earth, really not to. I know that word's so overused and that phrase is so overused, but it truly does feel like a new awakening, a new beginning for so much and so many, so it's a whirlwind right, yeah, absolutely, and I don't know when you had your awakening.
Speaker 1:We are going to dive into that because I'm very curious about your story. I know you have a powerful story and I'm sure we'll see a lot of just correlation between the two of us, our experiences. But I know when I had mine, it was back in 2017. And, like I didn't know anyone that was like awake at that time, right, and I was searching for stuff on the internet and I was so grateful to come across people who were sharing stuff like this, because I was looking for it and I couldn't relate to anybody.
Speaker 1:And it's so interesting to look back at what I was going through then because the exact same thing there was people talking about energies are so intense and this is going to be happening and this event is going to be happening, intense and like this is going to be happening and this event is going to be happening. And I got sucked into that, into wanting certainty and always needing to watch the next energy update and like it became an obsession and an addiction, right, like, because I wanted certainty. And it's so different this time around because I've been on the path for a while and I could still see myself wanting to know, like okay, like what's going on with the energies here? Like what can we expect? But I'm like, still, it's super important to not get caught up and sucked into that either, because I remember so many things that people were predicting, like the solar flash. I don't know if you ever came across that, but the solar flash.
Speaker 1:I told everyone there was going to be this solar flash back in 2018. Everyone's like what are you talking about, alyssa? So it's funny because I'm approaching it differently now, because I'm a lot more grounded, and I think that's so important. You and I can both agree on that. There is nothing more important than be grounded in your body, because it is very easy to dissociate, to disconnect and to want to focus on wanting to know what's happening next, rather than coming home to our bodies and being grounded in our bodies.
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely. And it's funny you mentioned 2017, because that's when I completely shifted the trajectory of my life in terms of career and, yeah, it was looking back. We get addicted to the next thing and the next thing and the next thing, and I feel like I was in that wheelhouse at that point in time and, like you said, this time it's totally different more grounded, more assurance. We're not searching for that assurance, we have it within us this time. I think that makes the major difference in how we not only view the world, but experience it as well.
Speaker 1:No matter what, we know that we're going to be okay because we're solid in our being and, of course, we're human and we have our moments and I have my moments where I'm so disconnected and I'm like what am I doing? Like why am I here? I don't want to go through this anymore. But it's, it's consistency and it's discipline to the spiritual path and doing your own inner work and then coming home to yourself and trusting and surrendering again.
Speaker 1:And sometimes we do get off path, because this path is not linear and so many times I thought that I was awake, but still it's like we, we go through so many different awakenings throughout our lives. We have that initial abrupt sometimes it's abrupt awakening where it's like whoa, all of a sudden the veil is lifted, but then there's a series of it and often we have to play out things that we have suppressed, that we might think that we're done with, but we actually still have to play them out right. So we have to almost re-enter the matrix, play these things out, get them out of our system, and then we learn the lesson and then, okay, back on the path, back on center. So it's like it's it's honestly just a series of like getting pulled off center finding your center again. Being pulled off center, finding your center again.
Speaker 2:And then it happens less frequently and you're able to find your center a lot quicker, a hundred percent, and that's basically my story is all about getting off that path and being redirected through, you know, force and circumstance to get pushed back on.
Speaker 2:And I think if we don't listen to our inner knowing and stay in alignment with who we are and what we're maybe put here on the earth to be doing, like what lights us up, what fills our hearts, and we get off path and start living from this place of should and really being affected by what society tells us we should be, what the patriarchy tells us to be, where, if we don't listen to that inner self, we're going to be forced back onto our path.
Speaker 2:And sometimes it's nice and like all rainbows and unicorns, and other times it's like that dark night of the soul and it just tears you down and I find as well, like how you spoke about, it's not as deep anymore, it's not as long anymore as those dark nights of the soul at the beginning. It's like this destruction and the more you do your work and the more you move through and work through these cycles and lessons, the less destructive it is and the longer it's not going to take as long, so to speak, anymore as what it might have 10 years ago, back in 2017, right, so I'm noticing that a lot of individuals are just coming to that point of the veil being dropped in front of them where they can transmit um like they haven't before, really becoming awake to what's beyond what is on the computer screen or the TV. They're really sensing that there's energies around the world beyond what they previously could fathom, and it's been interesting to watch and assist individuals move through that.
Speaker 2:And for others, it's like we've've been doing the work for 2010, or even like 30 years, and it's like this new up-leveling, this new higher frequency coming in and it's readjusting. We're not never immune to it, right? We're always being up-leveled in some capacity if we're willing to do so, absolutely.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and I know just speaking with I hosted a retreat this past weekend and I was speaking with another woman who's been on this path for a very long time. Like she is just absolutely incredible. Her name is Natalie Reimer. I've actually had her on the podcast before.
Speaker 1:You know who she, so she is very I like to call her Manitoba's like Mandy Trapp, like you know how like Mandy Trapp is the person in Alberta, like that spiritual guru. She's that for us here in Manitoba, like this woman is just a powerhouse. She's been on this path for 20 years. But she was saying she's like, you know, it's for us who are on this path, we're healers who are here to like assist in this time of awakening, supporting others and being guides. It's go time for us and she's like we didn't come here to be content creators and we can get lost as healers in the matrix of Instagram and how we should be showing up on our business as well.
Speaker 1:And that was a huge wake up for me over the past few months was like waking up to that and it was like, no, this is not what I came here to do and came here to be to follow up, follow along with, like the Instagram real trends, right, like we can get sucked into that matrix too, because building a business is is hard and we're human, and so that was a huge lesson for me learning that certain things aren't going to work for me that are going to work for other people because of this path that I've decided to take.
Speaker 1:And one thing I love about you is just your content is very just, soulful and authentic and it's just really beautiful to see. And it's nice to see the rest of us who are refusing to kind of follow along with those types of the trends, that and wanting videos to go viral right, because it's so easy to get pulled into that. But that's not what we came here for and I really appreciate that about you. You have just a very authentic, genuine energy to you and you can tell that you walk the talk, you're on this path, you do the work, and so I would love to dive into your story, because I know that you were a nurse previously and then you made the shift into energy healing, and I know that anyone who gets into this type of work, it's often because we had our own profound healing journey to go through. So would you be open to sharing your story?
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely, thank you for that. Those kind words, I you know, just kind of segueing back into the social media for me. I got caught up in that grind of trying to get all those trends on track and it just never flowed and it was like constantly pushing against what my gut was telling me and going in alignment with that, walking the walk and talking the talk Right. I felt like if I was going to put content out there, it had to be spontaneous and in alignment with the messages I was receiving. And so I find you can really feel the difference between those pieces that have been curated and those pieces that are completely channeled in the moment and very vulnerable and open, and I think that's a good lesson, especially if you're a female. I find that go, go, go and doing everything that everyone thought I should be doing. I lived my life from a place of should and eventually it imploded, and I'll go into that in a little bit. But basically it wasn't just one, one event that really shifted me into this line of work, from nursing. If I look back and be very honest with myself, it was a cumulative series of events and not one turning point, and it started back actually when I was like in high school, I was in a really bad car accident and had a massive concussion, to the point where I was having to learn how to basically read and do mathematics again and concentrate, and from there I had an autoimmune disease start to form about a year and a half later and during that time I was also, as we are as teenagers, trying to fit in and do all the things and really ignoring myself and my intuition. I was born with this really potent ability to tap into what's beyond the world, that we see. I was able to tap into energies, see, hear, feel, spirit and I shut that down because I didn't want to be the weird kid. I wanted to try and fit in somewhere, in some way and somehow. But what I found was, the more I pushed it away, the sicker I began to get, the more I began to actually not fit in because I wasn't being myself. And as I continued to grow and go into my 20s, I ignored my intuition to the point where I began getting into relationship with someone who wasn't really in alignment with me. I did and spoke and created this person who I thought was myself, but she was really just this person who was doing everything she needed to fit in she. I created this person who did everything that was expected of her, everything that I thought I should be doing in order to wear that life.
Speaker 2:The more my physical ailments started to present, to the point where I was actually off work, I was on multiple different narcotics, I was unable to work, clothing felt like shards of glass on my skin, I couldn't work out, I couldn't sleep, and we were actually preparing for a diagnosis of MS at that point, because my body was starting to shut down in different ways. And it was through a holistic practitioner who referred me to a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, who looked me square in the eyes and told me you're not crazy, this is energy, and if you trust me and you trust yourself, I'll show you how we can get you to be better than where you were when this all first began. And that was the first time I felt like my soul was truly seen and I began to kind of shed those layers of protection I built in order to be this persona of who I thought I was supposed to be rather than who I was. And as I continued to move through and kind of navigate this I was supposed to be rather than who I was. And as I continued to move through and kind of navigate this, I was still battling, like we do. We're still in those cycles and those conditioned ways in which we were taught to be.
Speaker 2:And I had this moment at retreat and this if there was any pivotal moment in my life, it was probably this one where I was sitting in retreat and we were given this exercise to go through our morals, our values and our ethics, like what are we truly at our core? Who are we truly at our core? And I remember just sitting there staring at the pages and looking at what I had circled and realizing my entire life was not based on what I just circled, life was not based on what I just circled. And I remember just starting to cry because everything from my marriage, from what I was doing as a nurse, all these things were things not in alignment with who I truly am and there was other factors going on in the marriage at that time and I'd already, there was already a line in the sand that was crossed. But it really, in that moment, gave me the I want to say permission, even though that sounds probably horrible, but it gave me the permission to start tapping back into who I was, because I had nothing to lose. I knew that if I was going to stay in this marriage and continue to live this life that I had created based on everyone else's views of who I should be and my own choices to create this person who you know out of we can call it trauma or whatever we want to label it.
Speaker 2:As this person that I had created, based on this shooting that I was doing to myself, I knew that I wouldn't be here in six or 12 months, that I was at that low of a point where I knew this was the moment where I had to then make the decision to work on myself. And as I got out of that relationship, there started to be this vitality to me. I started to be able to use big words again and I remember sitting in my pod nursing, and I said this sentence and I froze and I looked over at my co-worker and she was frozen, like we had her stethoscope like in hand, just like frozen solid, and she's like whoa, what did you just say? And I'm like I haven't been able to speak like that in so long. And again the tears came because it was this other step forward in the direction of healing and I began to study yoga.
Speaker 2:I went to Kripalu I don't know if you're familiar with Kripalu down in Massachusetts, new York State. It's a beautiful healing center. I met a shaman's apprentice, ray Crist, who was diagnosed with cancer and given three months to live, and he completely healed his entire body and is still thriving to this day. I began studying shamanism and the form of jaguar yoga. Under him I did different modalities such as cranial, sacral and all the things, and really began to dive into the correlation between the medical system and our physical body and the energetic body as well, and bringing them both together to create client sessions where we can really dive into the different pieces of our body from the physical, energetic, emotional and mental to begin to heal deeply, so that we're not just putting a band-aid on a symptom like a medication and I'm not saying that that's not needed. Western medicine and alternative medicine together are beautiful, but if we're putting band-aids on things for years and years and years rather than getting to the root cause, we're not really healing.
Speaker 2:So I wanted to really shift that and I began to kind of study my clients in nursing and I was able to pick up on what they were coming in for before they even told me during our assessments, to the point where I remember catching myself saying oh so you're in for your left knee pain and he was like what I'm like? Oh so you're in pre-left knee pain and he was like what I'm like? Oh no, shoot, shoot, shoot, how do I cover this? And I remember getting to that point where I was now trying to like, tap in, like how can I use my intuition that I've pushed aside for so many years to tap in and begin to feel into others' bodies and the energetics and begin to formulate that medical intuition to then help people move through and be able to have clients where they'd come in and they'd have chronic chest infections and ask them about, like, what began, what was going on in your world when these began, and associate it back to grief. And then we move through and began to process that grief which alleviates the chest infections. Right, so we don't need more antibiotics and more antibiotics.
Speaker 2:So it was really these multiple steps taking place that were pushing me back onto right, that path that we spoke about earlier, kind of pushing me back onto that path of where I'm meant to be, all these pieces of myself pushing me back onto that path of where I'm meant to be, all these pieces of myself which I tossed aside in order to fit in were being wrought back up and reawakened and I began to feel more alive and just. I felt like I could breathe again for the first time, I could speak for the first time, I could just be me. And now, bringing it to today, it's like I don't really care what other people think and it sounds snotty to say out loud but it's none of my business what you think. As long as I'm sitting in a place of integrity and my intention is to help and to love and spread more kindness and I'm not coming at someone with ill intention, then it's not my business. If I find my ego is getting in the way, then yes, check me, check me. And I'm not coming at someone with ill intention, then it's not my business. If I find my ego is getting in the way, then yes, check me, check me and I'll own it.
Speaker 2:But it's one of those things where, as you grow and in shamanism we say, when you heal yourself, you're healing seven generations before and seven generations behind. And that was happening for me in real time. I had my kiddos come up to me and be like oh, mom, you're going to be like a kid soon. I was like, what do you mean? I'm going to be like a kid soon? Like, oh, you're happy. I'm like, oh, my God. I didn't even realize I wasn't happy, I was faking it for so long I was truly feeling happy and I didn't even realize it. It was those moments, because kids don't lie about things like that, not when they're three and four, and I've received a note from my aunt, an email from my aunt apologizing for a behavior that happened years prior that I was still holding on to. But I went in and I began to do the work on that and that relationship was able to mend with me doing my work. I didn't reach out to her, that was settled, and so it was just beautiful to see those things come into play.
Speaker 2:And so when I have someone that's coming in and we're working through these things, I'm always like don't be surprised if the individual that we're working where the wounding has taken place reaches out to you If someone's done ill harm to you, intentionally or unintentionally. Right, because even if we think about like curse work. It can be unintentional. We can unintentionally curse our children or our friends through our own beliefs and our own insecurities and sometimes that carries with that other person for a long time and as they heal that, that other person can feel the healing as well, if they're in tune, and then they can reach out and be like, hey, I'm sorry for the way I you know, whatever that looks like.
Speaker 2:So it's always really fascinating to see how things play out in client sessions, whether it's an energetic session where we're solely just doing like a reiki relaxation, or whether we're doing more of a medical, intuitive session where we're bringing in and looking at the body they're coming in with a physical ailment.
Speaker 2:And then I do like shamanic sessions where we're channeling, we're doing journeys, we're doing cord cuttings, we're doing all the things to really process and move through. And those are usually my deep divers that are like I'm ready, I've been doing the work's go, and it's always just this beautiful individual session that when they sit back up their eyes are clearer, their energy just feels more settled and they just go holy. I didn't even realize I was feeling like A, b, c or D a lot of the time. So yeah, to transition from nursing to this point was probably divine timing, because it was 2019, april Fool's Day, 2019. Right before everything started, I was able to begin to build this business fully, just dive in. So everything happens for a reason in perfect timing, whether we feel like that rug is being pulled out from under us or whether we're actively trying to get back into alignment.
Speaker 1:So what an incredible story. Thank you so much for sharing that. And yeah, they speak often of like shamanic illnesses or the shamanic crisis that lead us onto our path. Right, and it's like you have. Once you you find like the keys to heal yourself. You have no choice but to help others to pass that on.
Speaker 1:And one thing that I really love about you is so there is a lot of spiritual bypassing in the community. We're just focusing on like love and light. Of course, we want to focus on positivity as well. Right, like it's not just always focusing on the heaviness and the density and the darkness. But one thing I have noticed is just, even with a lot of people that I work with, is we can often get caught up with just focusing on, say, for an example, physical health, just focusing on personal development, just focusing on the spiritual side of things and the love and light and positivity. And the nice thing with you is you have this beautiful balance where it's like you focus on all those areas and you also focus on the character and the morals and your integrity, which is really important, because I think that that is the spiritual path I truly believe it is and one thing that I've learned from.
Speaker 1:For me, my path started actually with going through the 12 steps and taking radical responsibility for my behaviors and my actions, no matter what other people did to me. What happened to me right and very similar to you, I was in a very horrible relationship, and one of the things that we had to do going through the steps is you write down your resentments and you write down the cause of it, and then you write down what you did and you don't focus on the other person, like their work is their work, right. We? All we can do is focus on our own work, and when we focus on our own work, are on our own responsibility, not on other people's. It's absolutely miraculous how your relationships start to change, not because they're doing their work, but because you're doing your work and, like you said, when you start to do that, it's mind-blowing.
Speaker 1:The people from your past that start showing up almost like the universe, showing you like this is a person that you need to make amends to, or perhaps they are there to make amends to you as well, right? So yeah, this path is just, it's beautiful, and I really truly wish so many people can experience the power of service and synchronicity, and I do believe that that is the future when it comes to marketing even, or like stepping into our calling, into our purpose. When we can focus on service, so without worrying about the cherished outcome, but just focusing on being of service, without expectation then synchronicity shows up in our life and it's our job to notice the synchronicity and act on it. And it just sounds like that's exactly what you've been doing this whole way through on your path is just being guided by synchronicity and listening to the call and acting on it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely. And don't get me wrong too, I went through this phase of spiritual bypassing and what I noticed and learned from that is when I was spiritually bypassing, I didn't have the capacity to sit with the pain. I wasn't in a place yet where it was safe for me to feel it. So I now look back and give myself that grace and compassion. And the other thing I say to all my students who come through because I certify in Reiki as well is that as we walk this path of healing ourselves, yes, people will come back in, but a lot of the times people will also fall away. We're walking through this doorway that we can't go back through, and as we heal, we're going to change and we're going to grow and we're going to know what's going on with us because we're with ourselves every single day. But to a parent who maybe doesn't understand what's going on, their perception of you is still stuck in how you were, not how you are, and so there may be really strong boundaries you may have to put up, especially if you're dealing with narcissism I know and I don't say that lightly, I know a lot of people use that word or any kind of relationship where there's been some boundaries that have crossed and you need to form those boundaries in order to really form a safe place for you to be and maybe your family. But even like friends, right, friends will be like who are you? I don't know you anymore, and that's okay.
Speaker 2:It's painful and a lot of the times we grieve those relationships and I find friendships are harder to grieve than sometimes romantic relationships, right. But I just thought it was really important that we kind of also say that, yes, beautiful things are going to come, but also there is this flip side that people may walk away and that can be painful. But I found at least in my experience I found that as people walked away, it created space for the individuals who had been doing the work, or the individuals that are now my soul family, to come in and step in. And there are even deeper relationships than those ones that I had and I still love those people, I still wish them the best. But we can outgrow friendships and families and relationships just like everyone else can. Right, not everything is forever. Sometimes we're just here to teach us lessons as we walk our path.
Speaker 1:Absolutely Beautifully said and honestly I think. Well, spiritual bypassing is actually part of the phase that we go through on our healing journey, because often our body doesn't feel safe enough to process, and first step is realizing that you are spiritual bypassing, because I just needed that wake up call, because I didn't realize I was doing that and then I was like, whoa, I am totally spiritual bypassing right now. But it honestly was a necessary phase in my healing because my body wasn't ready to process the heavy trauma that I had experienced. So that actually helped me get through. What I was going through was dissociating from my body, completely disconnecting. It served a purpose because our body is so intelligent that it knows what to do.
Speaker 1:And thank you, too, for mentioning that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows on this path, that, yes, we'll have opportunities to make amends with people from our past. We'll draw in plenty of just people who are more aligned with the new path that we're on. But we'll also have to, unfortunately, cut ties with other people as well, because it can be painful for other people to see you grow and see you changing, and, especially when you're on the spiritual path, if other people aren't, because, especially if they have, we all have prejudices, right. Every single human being has prejudices, and some people can have a prejudice towards spirituality and it can really trigger them as well. So, not to take that personal and not to worry about you know other people's work or where they're at on their journey, it's you know it's. People are going to see you, how they, how they choose to see you, and you can't necessarily do anything about that and just be able to stay true to yourself is the most important thing, right?
Speaker 2:absolutely yeah. The more authentic you are, the more you're going to have the people who are authentic in their living show up and see you, and it's the most beautiful and refreshing thing to just be able to I don't know boogie in your kitchen with your friends without thinking, oh my goodness, I might look this way, or having to constrict yourself from being who you truly are. There's a beauty in that, and I hope everyone gets to feel that at some point in time, because it's just the best feeling. If we could all just be more real and just more authentic and stop judging each other and just love each other a little bit more, give people permission to show up as they are, I think we would see such a huge difference in our communities and our society as a whole.
Speaker 1:Absolutely. And often when we have a tendency to judge ourselves, we're also judging others right. So if we're really concerned about what people are going to think of us, it's because we're busy judging other people. So the first step is to stop judging. And the more I was able to heal that because I definitely was at fault for that, I definitely was very critical and judgmental in my past, and the more I was able to let go of that, the less I cared what other people thought of me. And now it just really doesn't matter. And of course, I'm still human and I might catch myself judging other people in the moment and to become aware of that and to let that go, because we cannot be critical of ourselves without being critical of other people. It goes both ways Absolutely Well said and let's dive into.
Speaker 1:So you mentioned cord cutting and I definitely want to talk about that because I have a crazy story regarding that. I'll share it really quick. So I have a couple of crazy stories, but anyways, one was so. This would have been in 2018. So this was.
Speaker 1:This was over a year after I had separated from my ex and I was going through a really rough time Like this is, when I was very much dissociated, like it was. It was a heavy, heavy period for me. It was also a lot of fun because I was having very intense spiritual experiences at this time as well, but one day I was like walking in my apartment and out of nowhere, I just felt this extreme fatigue and it was not like normal fatigue, it was like overwhelming tiredness, to the point where I thought I was going to fall asleep standing up and I was like I have to lie down and so I lie down. I fell asleep instantly. I went into the most like real dream I've ever had in my entire life and in this dream I see my ex, but it's like we're on the other side of the veil, like I was able to see him through a completely different lens and I was able to understand why we went through everything we did, like he was such a profound teacher for me. We actually hugged in the dream like there was no bad feelings on either end.
Speaker 1:And then, all of a sudden, this tiny person comes in and they push me and I feel their hand on my chest. They push me and I I fall onto my bed and they put their hand into my chest and they grab this black cord. I have chills when I tell this story. They pull this like gray, sludgy black cord out of my heart. I felt it like my heart was being ripped open and they pull this long black cord out and all of a sudden I wake up and I'm bawling, I'm crying. For 30 minutes I felt my heart because I physically felt it and it was a cord being removed, which is wild, and I've never had an experience like that before or since then. So let's dive into cord cutting.
Speaker 2:That's, oh my gosh, I have chills and I'm so excited. If you can see, I just I'm like ear to ear smiling because it's just makes me so happy that you got to experience that for yourself and that release right. So cord cutting I describe energetic cords as like fiber optic cables. So if you think of a fiber optic cable, it's like a cable with a bunch of little cables in between or in the middle of it, rather, and everyone has an energetic exchange, whether it is the checkout lady at the grocery store, that cable is going to be rather small, or with your sister, that cable is going to be pretty darn big right, depending on your relationship. But as we have these cords attached to us, with everyone we interact with, there is an energetic exchange, kind of like a highway of energy. Even as we talk here, there's an energetic exchange happening right In our fiber optic cable, our cord. We're exchanging energy. Right now we can feel each other. If we tap in, I'm sure you can feel my energy and I can feel yours. So when that's not a good situation is when you're having that connection with someone and it's depleting you. So if you're in a relationship that's not healthy and that cord is continuously sucking the energy and quite literally like the life out of you, that's going to be a not healthy cord. If you are in a relationship with or have a sibling that you're fighting with, right, there's some not so nice energy being exchanged. We, when we cut that cord, we're allowing the energy to return. It's like back to sender, right, return to sender and we're going to have the energy that we've been expelling come back to us and them to themselves. That we've been expelling come back to us and them to themselves. So when we look at a cord cutting, what I do is we tap into the cords. We first have to feel it right. We have to know whose cord we want to cut. What's going on?
Speaker 2:So I've had a client who she's given me permission to share this many times who came in for a cord cutting from her sister, and first of all we had to narrow down who we were going to the cord cutting on, why, and we had to really dive into what it means to them, what was going on to them. To them it was like this continuous judgment, and it wasn't just in this particular fight. This judgment and this fight had been going on since they were like super small. This has been something that has carried through their entire life together and it had gone to this breaking point where they are now no longer even communicating with each other. So this cord was super important to cut because she was expecting and wanted her sister back in her life in some capacity.
Speaker 2:So we figured out the why and we got her to stand up and I say we because I'm always working with spirit and energy, it's never just me alone. I'm that hollow bone. So it got her to stand up and we began to shift and find where this cord is stemming from. Is it coming from the heart? Is it coming from the lower back? Where in her body are we feeling it? And when we do that, we also turn so that we're facing the individual. So it's almost like a radar system. If I'm standing in a room and I feel a cord attached to my chest, I'm going to then turn until I feel like I'm locked, energy to energy, soul to soul with that person. It's kind of like if they're north and I'm facing south, I'm then going to turn my body to face north. And every single person that I've had in office, even if they thought they couldn't, they were extremely just surprised to see oh my gosh, I can feel them there. So again, human body, we are so much more than we realize. So then we go through the process of cutting that cord. There is some.
Speaker 2:I use a combination of words, actions and movement to cut that cord, as well as visualization. So I tap into the shamanic realms, right, those unseen realms. We move the body through somatic releasing, we do some heel drops and other things, whatever feels right in that moment for that person. We do a meditation to also release and we use words. So the one phrase that I find has worked the best is so-and-so I set you free. Because you are declaring what it is you are doing, you are setting them free. With that there's no ill intention, you're setting them free. And I find a lot of the time when we begin to use the words right, we can't hide from speaking these words, because when we hide from speaking these words, we're not going to have that same, that same effect.
Speaker 2:I've had individuals where we've tried to do a cord cutting without speaking and it wasn't as profound. So when we speak the word so-and-so I set you free, it's not a passive so-and-so I set you free. It's like Angela, I set you free. It's from the core, the core it's guttural, it's like I demand you be set free from my energy field. And we move through a series of processes and at the end they just their shoulders come down from their ears, their body. They describe it as feeling so relaxed, so open, but at the same time heavy and grounded, and they feel tired. And it's like every this fight or flight that they've been in with this relationship, with this budding of heads has now reset and they're able just to settle into their own body. And sometimes, more often than not, tears come. And what I find always really telling is when, before they even leave, they get a text message from the person whose cord they're cutting Probably in 70, yeah.
Speaker 2:So in this case, with my friend who did a cord cutting with me, her sister messaged her immediately after we heard the phone bing and she was just like, oh my God, because this cord that we cut was so integrated in their lives. This is something that they've been fighting about since they were like three years old and now they're in their thirties and forties. Like this is something that's been so deeply embedded. When that cord got cut she could sense it two and a half hours away. So it's one of those things that you know we often underestimate or are fearful of shamanism and other modalities, but in cases like these it's really just saying here in a loving way here is your stuff, I give it back to you and I'm going to maintain my boundary and keep my energy bubbled within me. This is no longer serving and next time we come back together we're going to have a fresh start energetically. So it creates that foundation. It's kind of like sweeping off your front porch right, clearing that energy off.
Speaker 1:I love how you explain that, because I think a major misconception. I have heard this from people. They're like well, you should never cut ties and cut cords with your family, but what you're saying is you're clearing that cord so that they can have a stronger bond. It's not cutting the cord. She wasn't cutting her sister out of her life. She was clearing that energy between them. I love that. And so can this be utilized, so say in like romantic relationships? Of course it could be, because you just explained how that was with her sister. But do you think this is something that people should be doing to, because all relationships we have, you know you're going to have resentments in your relationships. Should we be doing like a hygiene, like a spiritual hygiene in our relationships and clearing our energetic cords on, you know, say like a yearly basis or something?
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely. I say you know, if you ended a relationship you're still have that energetic tie tying you together. You can have you ever sat there, just been like watching TV, reading a book or something, or driving, and then you feel your ex or someone and you just have that weird feeling oof, I wonder what they're doing. Or I feel like they're looking at my social media. You just have that weird little ting of that's your energetic cord still connected. That's how I interpret it anyways. People may interpret it as a different way, but that's how I interpret it.
Speaker 2:And when we cut those cords it's like taking a shower. We're releasing that, we're setting this new. We're like turning the computer on and off, right, restart, reset, and it's again. It's never with ill intention, it's always with this love, like I'm setting you free. I hope that you find love and compassion and do well. Same with if you're to cut a cord with your mom or your sister. I'm setting this free so when we come back into the same space we're able to start fresh. We're not going to have this lingering resentment towards each other.
Speaker 1:So yeah, because it's unhealthy and even in relationships like well, I experienced it with if we have more of like that ancient, anxious, dominant attachment, if we've ever been in a relationship where we're like, okay, I'm, I'm too, like I'm chasing my partner and I want to be more securely attached, have you ever had a situation like that where it's been supportive in their relationship that they were in, where they may have felt that they were coming on too strong in that relationship?
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's like that codependency and what I see. So, as you said, obsession, I see it as like a fish hook through the third eye. So it's more than just so, it's more than just a cutting of a cord. That's where I would bring in my, my teachings and shamanism to then go through and do some shamanic surgery. I call it we remove that fish hook and then we would do the cord cutting.
Speaker 1:I love it, so we would yeah.
Speaker 2:So it gets to be really interesting. And same with like relationships I've had. Individuals feel like I just can't shake them, and those are the times where I'm like I wonder, and there's usually shackles around the wrists or the ankles in those situations and it's not always from this lifetime, it's sometimes from lifetimes prior and that's where it gets really interesting. So again, there's kind of an order of things that I do. So I would go into that intuitive aspect. We would unhook those shackles and every time I've done this they felt the release from the shackles and they've usually had ankle pain or you know, some carpal tunnel things like that have shown up. And then we do the cord cutting. So cord cutting, sometimes there's steps that we need to do prior. We just can't come in and do the one and done. Sometimes there's it's multifaceted, there's more layers there than what meets the eye, so that when it gets I love, you can probably tell like I'm like, oh excited, I love those sessions because it's just it's clearing on so many different levels.
Speaker 2:So it gets to be pretty and even like if you have, like a co-worker you're butting heads with absolutely cut the cords, because then you're just resetting it's, it's never's, never. Um, I'm cutting you out, it's a we're resetting. So yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:Amazing, and can you share some other modalities that um you do as well? I know there's Reiki and I know that you also have. Do you do ancestral healing? So is that different than cord cutting?
Speaker 2:Yes, so generally I kind of group everything under, like the shamanic healing or the medical intuitive. It's always going to be completely individual. Where we go, I have multiple different modalities in my toolbox and I generally do individualized sessions. So if you come in and we're doing a cord cutting, but you know, there's some ancestral stuff here, there's shackles and this is leading to wrist pain, everyone's had to have carpal tunnel surgery, all the females in your generational line and your maternal line. Maybe we're going to go back and we're going to unshackle everyone. We're going to do the healing on each and every one of them so that that is no longer carried into daughters and granddaughters and things like that. So when we do generational healing, I generally don't do just generally general oh my goodness, generational healing, because to me, from what I experienced in sessions, there's so much more there than just that and I don't want to kind of funnel things into one thing. I want to be able to tap into the toolbox and do everything we can that needs to be done in those sessions. So that's kind of what I do when I also do sessions. We do a lot of movement as well. We shake a lot of energy out. We sometimes, when I'm teaching yoga and meditation classes. We incorporate movement in there as well as journeying. I do a lot of shamanic journeys to clear out past lives and things that maybe have come up I don't know, two lifetimes ago, many more lifetimes ago that are presenting now. So an example of that would be someone who all of a sudden turned 30 and they're having this unknown fear of drowning. You know, we can go back and see like where's this stemming from? What's coming up? Or I had one beautiful soul that was terrified of dying in childbirth. She was pregnant. She's like this came out of nowhere All of a sudden. I'm just so overwhelmed and we tracked it back to a previous life where that did happen and we moved through that and she came back to me two days later for another session and then went on to have, she said, the most pain-free, calm birth she ever had, two days after that. So it's always interesting to see how each individual shows up and what modalities we can pull from. But yeah, shamanic journeying, I love it.
Speaker 2:We can do it to kind of clear out blockages as well. If we're stagnant in our business, we can go in to release that. I sometimes bring in DNA activations and clearings. Right, we're in this age where a lot of us, especially who are doing the work or have done the work and are continuing on, are feeling as though we're in this in-between. It's like we're stepping up and then we're kind of being held back, kind of like we have anchors, kind of pulling us back a little bit. So I go in, I'll do like a DNA clearing and activation, so we're clearing out the DNA that's no longer associated or in alignment with where we're headed. So, for easy terms of understanding, like 5D right, we're sitting in the 3D but we're moving into and ascending into that 5D. We need that DNA upgrade. So I go in and I activate that DNA, I clear out anything that's no longer serving, and we do that through energetics, through the shamanic process.
Speaker 2:So that's why, like everything, I kind of umbrella under shamanism in some aspects intuitive shamanism, shamanism but everything gets to be so interconnected that we never I find we never really know what's going to come up in a session. So I've just kind of been naming them. I think Monique has like go with the flow sessions. She's been on your podcast, I think before, and so I'm like, hey, that's a genius idea. So, basically, if you book a session with me. We can book it on what you think you want, but just know that if that's not what's showing up that day, we can do that. But there's always some other pieces there and it just might take a different direction. And it gets to be really fun and I've never had anyone upset with that yet but it gets to be always really interesting. You have a great time.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, they pretty much come in with an intent, intention, and then it goes where it's it's meant to go. I actually had an experience. There's an incredible healer in Winnipeg here who I've been seeing and sent a lot of people to go see over the past seven years, and I went to see her, originally for a past life regression, which was really cool, and I wanted to another one. So I went for another one and she's like no, you, you are not getting a past life regression. And she she said that she could see that, um, there's like a visceral, um, like a rope around my neck. But then she's like you, we need to do a cord cutting. And she's like your ex, there is some negative energy, there's still some cords there that we need to clear. I was like okay, you do your thing so, which I appreciated, right. So she was able to see what I needed, love it, and so where can people find you and work with you? I know that you offer a couple different certifications as well.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so you can find me on Instagram. It's at healing with period Sarah. There's two of us, so make sure you have the one that says medical intuitive. And then I have a website as well wwwhealingwithsarahca. So not com, but ca. You can find me in either place. I'm also on TikTok and all the things under the same handle. So when you book, just know that that could be something.
Speaker 2:Things can go kind of either way with a session. But I also yes, I do certifications, so I do one-on-one Reiki certifications. So right now I'm stepping away from the group sessions and I've decided to go one-on-one and help people integrate Reiki and energy work into their business. So most recently I just worked with a beautiful hypnotherapist who's now integrating Reiki and energy healing into her hypnosis sessions and it has been profound. I've heard from her clients, I've heard from herself how life altering this has been to integrate that. So it's always a possibility to integrate those modalities into different areas of work, whether you're a dentist or a hairdresser I've had hairdressers come through as well because they're literally working on your head and moving with your energy, your hair and the sacred hair is sacred, so it's really interesting to see who walks through. So there's always possibilities and always willing to chat with you if that's something you're interested in and just wondering if that's a good addition to your toolbox or not too.
Speaker 1:Amazing. Thank you so much, and we'll share all of that in the show notes for anyone who's interested as well. Thank you so much for being here. I loved the conversations you were even expecting so. Thank you so much for your time.
Speaker 2:Oh, you're so welcome. Thank you, I feel like I.
