starting Constantly checking emails and messages all day long. In today's Thrive five, I'm gonna show you how setting specific times to check your inbox can boost your productivity, protect your focus, and help you get way more done in way less time with way less stress. Welcome back to Thrive in Five, where I give you a quick burst of motivation and productivity in five minutes or less. I'm Cindy, your host, a self-made entrepreneur, busy mom, and a business coach. I've built and sold several digital businesses ranging from five to six figure successes. So when it comes to managing time and priorities in both life and work, I get it. I've been there and I am here to help you thrive. So let's talk about one of the sneakiest productivity killers out there. Your inbox. It might feel like you're being productive by replying quickly or staying on top of those messages. But if you're constantly checking your email or your dms, every time you hear a ping, you are fragmenting your attention and that kills your motivation. So here is the truth for today. Your inbox is a to-do list that other people write for you, and if you let it run your day, it will steal your time and your energy from your own priorities. So what's the solution? Check your email and messages on your schedule, not theirs. And here's how to set up a simple system that works. You need to pick two to three specific times a day to check your messages. I suggest mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and maybe once before the end of the day. The key here is batching your response time so you stay in control and out of reaction mode. Set a timer if you need to. When the time's up, close your tab app and go back to your focus zone. You need to turn off notifications in between. Yes. Really turn them off. You don't need to know the second. An email lands that tiny alert might only take a second to glance at, but it takes a minute to refocus afterwards. Protect your mental space. Silence those pings. You need to create a quick response system for efficiency. You don't need to write a novel every single time. Have a few saved responses, templates, or voice notes ready to go for FAQs or common replies. This makes each inbox session short, focused and efficient so you can get in, handle what matters, and get out this works because when you schedule your email and message check-ins, you reduce decision fatigue, protect your deep work time, and train others to respect your boundaries. You get to focus more stressless and reclaim hours in your day. So let's recap how to take control of your inbox and stop letting those messages run your day. Choose two to three times that are set per day to check your email and your messages. Turn off those notifications to eliminate constant interruptions. Use templates or quick replies to save time and mental energy. So if you are ready to implement this today, here is your action steps. Block off a specific time to check your messages in your planner or your calendar. And here's the hard part. I want you to turn off those email and message alerts for the rest of the day and if you really wanna go for it, create two to three responses that can be your shortcuts to replying to emails. You don't need to be consistently on to be responsible. You just need a better system. And today you've got one.
