The First Amendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." 1 Peter 3:15 encourages Christians to "Always be prepared to answer everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." The First Commandment, "You shall have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3), underscores the importance of individual faith and the freedom to worship.
