Sleep paralysis is terrifying. I hope you revisit when you said people have different cultural experiences and interpretations. We were told growing up it was demonic.
I get anxious all the time and the breathing exercises do not help cause I have asthma what else can I do
Wow my childhood was similar to you and Mike plz share more about how you coped
Is it possible to trace the path to healing from historical oppression
seems like the universe if trying to tell me something. I stumbled upon this podcast and heard you talk about affirmations. Earlier in the week my job had a yoga instructor teach us chair yoga and she had a deck of affirmation cards. Like you I used to say affirmations religiously then I stopped. I think I’ll try again. What else do you recommend to reframe negative thoughts and how long does it normally take to notice a difference? I’ve turned into negative Nancy and would like to get my spark back. Ironically my name is Nancy!
I’ve be struggling with stress and overwhelmed. You helped me learn how mindful rest and acceptance can enhance emotional clarity and well-being. I’m working on my self-care routine.
You mentioned that engaging in constructive activities can help mitigate feelings of helplessness during this stressful election season. Could you share an example of a positive community project that listeners might consider joining, especially for those looking for a way to take action without feeling overwhelmed?
This was such a timely and needed episode, Kapri! Your focus on election stress was spot on, and I appreciated the practical mindfulness exercises you shared, especially the 4-7-8 breathing technique and the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method. Its comforting to know that there are tangible strategies we can use to stay grounded and manage the overwhelm that many of us are feeling right now. I also loved the reminder to limit news consumption and engage in positive community activities. Its a helpful perspective that being involved can actually reduce stress rather than adding to it.
Enjoying the podcast. I've thought for a while trauma is stored in our bodies and passed on through DNA or transferred through generations. You mentioned how cultural trauma is informed by factors including spiritual experiences. Please raise awareness on religious trauma and the interconnection between mental illness and demonic possession. This is a taboo area that is often overlooked but deeply embedded in cultures. Thanks! Helen
wow the episode on generational trauma and the election stress struck me. Share more on how to cope and techniques for panic attacks. Thanks for spreading this awareness.
Congrats on the new show!
