Is anyone else out there wondering why we're all still living in high school? It feels pretty weird to me to have this situation where we're all in our 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and the behavior that's still happening feels very elementary still. The gossip, the mean girl, the peer pressure shit, the talking behind one another's backs. I look at that kind of behavior and I think, what the fuck are we doing? Like I just, I literally can't get my head around, what the hell are we doing? Uh I try to give people credit, but then I spend time with people and I'm like, do you realize how stupid you sound? Not from a judgmental place, but like life can be so much better when you graduate from high school. So why the hell are you still in high school at 40? Um, I look at shows like Real Housewives of Anything, and it's like, ladies, ladies, ladies, get your graduation gowns and caps on. Let's fucking elevate ourselves because what's happening right now, that's bullshit. It's disgusting. And it's not what we should be modeling to our young girls as far as what friendships actually equal. Um, I think we've gotten to this place where uh the mean girls that were in high school that people were performing for because they didn't want to get made fun of or they wanted to fit in, and so we get into this box, we're still all performing for that. And I look at that and I think there's no quality of life there. Um this cool is where spirits go to die, and we don't need to do that anymore. Um, when you know, when people are working on themselves and trying to level up, and you've got other people that are peer pressuring them and and you know, harassing them about making good decisions, it's like I've been watching this happen recently, and I just I literally can't get my head around it. The other day I was out at a bar and sitting there having dinner with my husband. There's these people that are like, oh, you know, let's have one more drink and it's you know Thursday or whatever. And I don't give a fuck. I used to drink all the time, all day, whenever I felt like it. So no worries, but that was my choice. Energy is everything, and most of us are spending it like drunk gamblers at a Vegas blackjack table. My book is built around one simple but powerful tool: quantifying your energy so you know exactly where it's going and how to get more of it back. Think of it as a manual for your soul's fuel tank. If you're tired of running on empty, this book will show you how to fill back up and keep yourself in the game long enough to actually win. I'm like, you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I watched as 50-year-old human beings peer pressured someone who was talking about they didn't want to drink or they were trying to drink less or whatever, literally shamed them to the point where the other adult ordered a drink. And I thought, how is this the world that we're living in? From both sides. What kind of level of insecurity does it take for someone to not be able to drink by themselves? Because there were four people there. Two people were drinking, two people did not want to drink. So, what level of insecurity and why would that be so important for the folks that were drinking to be able to push it on someone else so that they also would drink? That's disgusting to me. The other half of that is if someone was pressuring me to do something that I didn't want to do, especially in the case where I said, you know, I'm not doing that right now because I'm trying to focus on other things and whatever, and someone pushed back on that and said, no, no, no, come on. I would tell them to go fuck themselves, and then I would get up and I would walk out. Because the idea that we wouldn't want to support one another, who are making decisions that are good decisions, because let's all open our eyes. We all understand that alcohol is poison. You can keep fucking pouring it down your gullet if you want to, keep numbing with it, keep letting it destroy your life, keep letting it be the fuel for your own suffering. By all means do that, because I'm very much a stay in my own lane, you stay in yours, all of that. If you want to keep doing that, that's your business. But I don't know what kind of fucked up high schooler it is that still wants to provide peer pressure in your 40s and 50s and whatever age you are, so that you don't feel insecure about drinking by yourself or so that you make certain that people stay at your shitty fucked up level. Can't get my head around that. Also, to anyone out there that does get peer pressured, grow up. Go ahead and just tell those people to fuck off. This isn't high school anymore. We don't, we don't have to succumb to all of that kind of stuff. It's just weird to me. Um, we're gonna get judged anyways, we're gonna die anyways. You might as well fucking live. So why are we all living to perform from this high school perspective? It's just, it's, it's immature, it's um hard to watch, it's hard to be part of. Like I just don't have any of those people in my life anymore. And I encourage other people to just cut people out of their lives like crazy if that's how that is. We're not meant to have everybody in our lives the whole way through. So if you're still hanging out with the crew from high school, whether that's literally people from high school or just people that feel like it's in high school, figure it out, right? Look at your the five closest people in your life. If those people are the people that are gossiping, that are still talking shit, that are still causing their own suffering and wallowing in in their own bullshit, go ahead and maybe take a step back from that and realize that you're the curator of your own life. And by hanging out with those folks, you're keeping yourself in the same fucking cesspool. And to those folks that want to be the ones that are doing the peer pressure, fuck you. Grow up. That's all I'm gonna say about that.
