In this heated mini-sode of Let's Get Naked, Anne Karber tackles the heartbreaking trend of families being destroyed by political division. We explore why people are willing to sacrifice lifelong relationships with parents and relatives over ideological disagreements and voting choices. Anne breaks down the necessity of emotional intelligence and how to set firm boundaries so that Thanksgiving and family gatherings don't turn into battlefields. Stop letting the political circus dictate who is allowed at your table of life. It is time to prioritize human connection over performative outrage.

What You'll Learn:

  • How to separate a person's value from their political opinion.
  • The importance of setting 'no-politics' boundaries during holidays.
  • Why modern politics is a performative distraction from real connection.

I would love to share with you one of the dumbest things that I've heard recently. Maybe it's been going on for longer, but again, most people understand that I keep my head in the sand when it comes to all of the stupid things that are happening out in the world. Uh I've come to this place where you couldn't surprise me, right? If I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be fucking surprised anymore with the ding-dong shit that's fucking happening out there. But this is something that I've heard from multiple people that just really blows my mind. Do you realize that not just a couple of people, these are not random instances. I think this is happening quite a bit. People are blowing up their families because of politics, right? People are getting so worked up about their thoughts and their feelings and their opinions about stuff in their own families, that we have people that don't celebrate Thanksgiving together, that we have people that don't call their moms anymore because of who they voted for. And what I think about that is what kind of a fucking ding-dong can't fucking separate and understand that we're not all meant to agree. The idea that we can't have differing opinions and have something higher than an elementary level emotional intelligence to be able to navigate that blows my mind. The idea that you think that everyone that you're gonna put around your table of life should share your thoughts and feelings and opinions on everything is the dumbest thing I've ever fucking heard. What kind of a fucktard doesn't fucking call their mom because she voted for somebody that they didn't fucking like? Are you out of your mind? That woman wiped your ass. That woman fucking took care of you when you were fucking sick. That woman, no matter what she believes, um, took care of you and gave you life. And because she doesn't agree with you on all of the stupid things that your fucked up brain thinks and all of the fucking group think and all of the shit that you believe, because she doesn't fucking fall in line with that, you're gonna cut her off. If you're not adult enough to set boundaries so that people don't maybe talk about things that you don't want them to, right? Because I understand there's always that weird fucking uncle who's like a real big Trump supporter or a real big fucking whoever the last Democrat. Well, I don't even fucking know. I don't even know who these fucking politicians are because I think it's a fucking game and a joke, and I think it's all bullshit. Um, but if you don't fucking like who that is or who somebody voted for, then just say, you know what, if we could just not talk about politics at Thanksgiving, that'd be great. I got tired of watching people drag themselves through life half dead from exhaustion, comparison, and bullshit. So I built a system that flips the script. This book is for the ones who refuse to settle, who know deep down there's more, and who are ready to call themselves out to level up. If that's you, welcome. Let's go. You can get your copy of the Life Hack Playbook on Amazon or on the podcast website, let's get nakedpodcast.com. Why can't you be adult enough to have that conversation instead of just burning people to the fucking ground? That I don't understand. We're burning families because we can't be able to say, you know what, it's interesting that Aunt Sally thinks that uh people shouldn't get abortions, or that uh my cousin Sheila is very pro, pro-life or pro-choice, or like whatever the fucking things are, or that people voted for this person or that person, or what should we do with homelessness or whatever. We all have differing opinions. Like, what kind of ding-dong thinks we're all supposed to fucking agree on everything, and what would that even look like in this world if we did, right? Politics in general is a complete fucking circus. There's no accountability. These people, this is just a performance, just so everyone understands. If you're not fucking smart enough to figure that out, I don't even know what to fucking say. It's literally a joke. It's a fucking circus. The the fucking media, the the big pharma's all roped into that politics. All of that shit is wrapped up into the circus. And you get in the circus and they stir the soup and they stir the soup the stew, and you're in there burning family members to the ground because you're not emotionally intelligent enough to figure it out and just put some boundaries in place so that you can keep mom and grandma around. You know, in that situation, I think fuck you, and also you get what you get. That's all I'm gonna say about that.
