Whether you're sober, sober-curious, or simply seeking deeper self-leadership, you'll find insights on stress relief, nervous system healing, and the mind-body connection. This is for women who want to feel calm, clear, and confident — and know their growth isn’t an accident... it’s a choice.

I Thought the Goal Was to Feel Better: What I’ve Learned About Processing Emotions EP 95

What if the goal isn't to feel better all the time, but to get better at actually feeling?
I've spent a lot of time learning how to regulate my nervous system, process emotions and support myself through hard things. But lately I've been noticing how easy it is to use even the good tools—breathwork, journaling, movement, meditation—as another way to try to get out of an uncomfortable feeling as quickly as possible.
In this episode, I'm talking about what I'm learning about actually being WITH our emotions instead of immediately trying to fix, regulate, reframe or move through them.
I get into emotional regulation vs. emotional avoidance, why resisting uncomfortable emotions can create even more suffering, the difference between a feeling and the story we build around it, and what it can actually look like to process emotions in the body.
Because nervous system regulation isn't about being calm all the time.
Sometimes it's having enough capacity to say: this is what I'm feeling right now. I don't need to make it go away. And I can stay with myself while it's here.
Looking for somewhere to have conversations like this?
Every Wednesday at 8 PM EST, I host a free community call for women who are sober, alcohol-free, or questioning their relationship with alcohol. We talk about the stuff that comes with choosing to live differently... the rebuilding, the relationships, the identity shifts, the hard days, and figuring out what you actually want your life to look like now.
You don't need to have it all figured out, and you don't need to be a certain number of days, months or years alcohol-free. Come listen, share, connect, and be around other women who get it.
