Hello and welcome to another episode of the Business of Life. Oh no, I was just starting an interview. I'll start again.
SirVacancheriYes, let me turn.
Dr KingHello and welcome to the Business of Life. My name is Dr Ariel King and today we have a very, very special guest. Please welcome Mr Abraham Paul Vacancheri. Welcome, sir, how are you?
SirVacancheriThank you.
Dr KingPlease tell us about yourself and where you're from and what you do. Thank you.
SirVacancheriBasically, I was born and brought up in Mumbai. I'm basically from a place called Cochin Canada it's known as the Townsend's Alley, which is in Cochin Canada but my last chunk of my life was spent in Mumbai and in between there was a small period in which I was in the US, also for one and a half years in Los Angeles, where my father was doing his research on pharmaceuticals, as a person who had taken a sabbatical from the Hindustan liver, which is the Indian.
Dr KingHello and welcome to another episode of the Business of Life. My name is Dr Ariel King and we thank you for being here. Today we have a very special guest, mr Abraham Paul Vacancheri he's going to be talking about oh goodness, I got to start again. Welcome to the Business of Life. My name is Dr Ariel Rosita King and today we have a very special guest. Our guest today is Mr Abraham Paul Vacancheri. Welcome, sir. How are you?
SirVacancheriI'm fine, thank you.
Dr KingThank you. Could you please tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do, where you're from In?
SirVacancherifact, you know, I spent my childhood in Mumbai. I was a party in South Mumbai and I studied in a school where I was really nurtured and my formative years were spent in Mumbai. And again, I had a small stint in between in US, which was almost a year and a half in LA, where my father had gone for some research on a sabbatical from Hindustan, which is the wing of Unilever in India. So what happened is that my childhood was quite good. It was a very good school. My childhood was quite good. It was a very good school.
SirVacancheriI could get a lot of info and I was really formatted in such a way that created a base for me to excel in the future years. Then I in the middle school, I had to leave Mumbai and come back to Cochin where he took up a job in teaching, and then I came back to Mumbai in pursuit of a job. I worked there. So 25 years to 26 years of my life was spent in Mumbai. So that gave me a real bearing on what I could do and what I was adapted and what I was adapted.
SirVacancheriAnd my initial years in my corporate life was spent in an orthotic and prosthetic engineering firm, where I was in the product department, and then I was pushed into because of my English background, which I published. I had done post-graduation in English also, which really helped me in being in, you know, handling multiple departments within the organization, like pamphlet designing and so on. And then I got into I was also an MBA in marketing and personal management, apart from certification in public governments. So because of this I was pushed into various things pertaining to healthcare. Soon after my short stint in the prosthetic and orthotic company, I moved into marketing for high-end fitness equipment, wherein I was dealing with companies like Precord, which is a big company from the US. I spent a lot of time there and I built up my experience in one small segment of healthcare, I would say, which is also a big segment in another way, because fitness is required by any which way for any person on the universe and that I used to cater to in a very big way. And I resigned from that company as the main national sales and marketing manager and also the marketing manager for South countries. After that I had various tints. I donned many hats. I would say Things like immigration in terms of abroad, education, consulting and so on.
SirVacancheriAnd after that, after that, I decided to go on my own by global influencing, which is a designation which I myself had created, and I was looking at from the acceptance angle of and that is what has brought me to the level I've come to as a person today, and this has really evolved day by day. It was getting enhanced and today I can see people from all walks of life, from various parts of the globe accepting what I am, from various parts of the globe. You know, accepting what I am and my LinkedIn recommendations are, you know, is an example I would say to emulate, because you know that gives you a self-evaluation about what you can say and what people accept and what people have seen in you from a 360-degree angle. And that is something that I have imbibed in my day-to-day conversations and discourses and various explanations and mentoring and strategic advisory and all that. All these are the elements which are seeping in and my success rate has been very, very high and that has culminated in more than 90 recommendations, which is spread across 30 nationalities.
Dr KingThat's amazing, and so you know you've had such a varied life and so much experience and have worked in so many different fields and with so many different nationalities and so many different people. Can you please tell us what do you do now and how do you do it and who do you do it for? Thank, you.
SirVacancheriBasically I am. You know, just like I said, I'm really stationed myself as a global influencer, influencing people's decision making. That is my core area. I'm an avid connector, also in terms of connecting the dots, because these days people want expertise within expertise. When we have expertise, we have certain expertise which is already ingrained in us through our experience, which we have garnered, and experience from learning from people.
SirVacancheriLearning, unlearning, relearning, strategizing all these things come in that to make ourselves a very potent weapon to encounter various strategies and formulating a lot of direction to the person whom we are as a clientele. As a clientele, I also go for the mentoring aspect, which goes from a 10-year-old to a 75-year-old, of various categories. And I still stress on the point of acceptance. The acceptance level has been very, very high Because unless and until you are accepted, whatever you say has no meaning. This is what I personally perceive and that has really put me in a good state and it will continue to do so, and there has been very good word of mouth, referrals and all that which has really culminated in what, whatever little I am today.
SirVacancheriSo, that is so. It is an all-around. I've been doing this for the last six, seven years global influencing and that has met with a reasonable amount of success. I would say much more than that.
Dr KingMay I ask what kind of trends have you seen, then, in the last seven years being a global influencer, and if you have to say that there are three most important issues that that span the world, no matter how old you are, what country you're from, and that you're engaging with these people.
SirVacancheriWhat would those three areas be? The first and foremost thing is, when we are talking to even nationalities, we have to understand their culture. The cultural background is paramount. The Scandinavian culture is different. The culture in a place like England is different. In Germany it is different. The cultural variation, the cross-cultural approach to things have to be very, very minutely studied. Then you know even a thing like how to speak, being a very good listener. You know even the speed of the speech has to be monitored according to the type of people, and with the advent of the COVID-19, the post-COVID era has become even more, and currently, with the geopolitical situation, that is a very dangerous thing. Things happen overnight and it is to subside. It is very difficult.
SirVacancheriYou can see things happening in a very haphazard manner of various countries, and that is really that also influences our decision-making. These are factors and with the COVID, the post-COVID era has become very boundary-less. Everything we are painting on a new canvas that makes a lot of sense. So these are some very cardinal things I would like to say when you ask me. Three things. One is the communication aspect has to be closely monitored. The informative thing about the geopolitical situation is very much required, and then your inputs have to be body-need-based.
Future Trends for Young People
Dr KingMakes all the difference. May I ask what is your thoughts about what's happening with young people? When I say young people, usually the UN classifies anybody young from 18 to 35. We'd love to know more of your thoughts and opinions about what's happening with young people around the world, especially as a global influencer.
SirVacancheriWhen you talk of young people, there is a lot of things happening in various countries. Again, india, the young population is very, very high and that is one big boom for India. But in certain other countries, even a country like China, it is dwindling. Though they have a high population because that one child philosophy is really boomeranging on them. Though they have a high population because that one child philosophy is really boomeranging on them. Then a place like Japan why I say countries?
SirVacancheriJapan is facing an old age. They have a lot of people in the old age category and that is hampering their progress also. Every year, I believe half a million is getting eroded and this is going to hampering their progress also. Every year, I believe half a million is getting eroded and this is going to hamper their trade and various production and various other things, because they produce the largest number of cars in the world with not even a drop of steel. All it's imported. So it depends from country to country.
SirVacancheriIndia is quite safe that way, but in India, because of the numerous numbers, the number being 1.4 billion, there is a lot of talk on that because the unemployment aspect is really picking up and that is happening from the global influencing factor. These are factors which are really putting a stop to certain things, because we have to pull people in to put things into their ears. And this is not just happening here. Here in India it is much better, but in places like even the US, which is a very developed country, there is a lot of scare of unemployment. Number one and the young population also is because the divorce rates and all are very high, divorce rates, and all are very high.
Dr KingAnd there are a lot of things which happen. Pardon me. This really affects young people, then, doesn't it? And so what advice would you give to young people, no matter what country they're in? Because, you know, people will always be people. People have families, people work, people have exploring.
SirVacancheriWhat advice would?
Dr Kingyou give to young people?
SirVacancheriThat is what you have to keep exploring various vocations. Covid has taught again a very good lesson. Because communication was given impetus over even physical marketing, just to give one instance. So they had to go to other locations which were hidden in them. Some people were so saddled in certain locations that they never knew what to do next, and that gave rise to another vocation for mental wellness. And mental wellness is really, you know, doing its rounds in a big way across the globe because of these things which have happened unexpectedly. No one, you know, thought that such a thing, but really create the world and make life into a standstill in various places and the people really suffered.
SirVacancheriOne was the loss of lives, one was the loss of time, taking the whole world backward by notches.
SirVacancheriAnd then now we are slowly surging forward after a long yawning gap, and that has been a terrific thing on growth. But the thing, what we can tell the young people, is to keep on exploring what all are the possibilities and keeping abreast with the developments which are happening in the technological advances and how to raise the shop, make their things razor sharp so that they get vocations which they have not even dreamt of in the coming years, because things are changing. Things are changing for the better, for the worse. The better or worse has to be decided by you, and that is how I think the world moves forward and the surge happens only when things are imbibed from the surroundings. You take help from your comrades who are well-equipped and try to sharpen the skills we are adept at. Everyone is adept at certain skills which are hidden in them, which has to be brought out to the open and used for some vocational training or whatever it is, depending on their outputs, and that outputs are further going to be their inputs for various big organizations.
Dr KingThank you. That's such good advice. Really love your advice. And you know, as you said, there's so many changes that have happened within the world. Quote unquote post-COVID. So we're, I guess, talking about post-2020. And it's only 2024 going to 2025. There have been so many new trends in the world. What are your thoughts about some of the new trends that we have, not just with artificial intelligence? Are your thoughts about some?
SirVacancheriof the new trends that we have, not just with artificial intelligence, and I'm not sure if you can tell us about artificial intelligence, yes, yes, no, artificial intelligence has really conquered the world. It is here to stay. But you know there are a lot of things like machine learning, artificial intelligence, you know, seeping into every other thing and if you see, even things like semiconductors are really coming up. They are curbing the, even now halting the progress of delivery of big vehicles and all that. The semiconductor plays a role in various things. It is becoming a monopolized situation with people like Jensen and all that, nvidia, which is really monopolized the situation. But it remains to be seen how we combine with various countries. In India it is combined with Reliance, so you can search for you know it looks on. We have to be opportunity based.
SirVacancheriWe have to be very opportunistic and the opportunistic people lead the road anywhere, for that matter. You have to combine what is the strength in you with the strength in another so that it becomes a very powerful force, and that is what a company like Reliance is doing in India. If you see, I'll just give you the example of India alone, to cite a very big thing People like Jeff Vessos, people like Mark Zuckerberg, are making inroads into India for what it is, to enhance their base in places with very big headcount. You know the database is going to be the name of the game.
SirVacancheriI mean yes, because that will play a big role in reaching out to people and all these things are all a very big background to be given for the big surge and the push which is required to put any country into the forefront. And India has taken a lead role in that, thanks to a very dynamic prime minister. Mr Narayan Pundi has really taken the thing into the forefront and you know, running from pillar to post to see to it that India's name is put in the van and the vanguard from various sectors. He has not left one stone unturned. You know he is going all out to see to it that India has searched, be it infrastructure, be it technology.
Dr KingYou know, we are just raising ahead.
SirVacancheriYou know, go to Umbi, it's telecom, telecom and telecom, and all this in India is very cheap thanks to companies like Reliance, who have made it very, very affordable for even the needy. So you have to be opportunistic. You have to see which is most apt for a country like, which is a developing country, how we can surge ahead. Education, healthcare all these things have to be given additional impetus. Education, healthcare all these things have to be given additional impetus. And because this is on how people would live and live, to eat, eat to live that sort of situation. So these are things which India is a glowing example and setting a trend for other people to follow.
SirVacancheriSo I see a lot of scope in everything what a person does in the positive way, because we can see negatives in everything. Ai is seen as a job loser for many people, but they don't see what is happening in the other side of the coin and the life is always a balance. Where there's a loss, another person will be gaining In the companies. Also, if you see one person if he loses out, he'll be crying, but another person will be laughing his way to the bank. So the world is very strange and there are a lot of people who want to give their bit and see to it that they make a progressive country, in whichever country they are, even a person like Elon Musk. He's trying to prove a point, not just in surging ahead as the richest person in the world, but to put the technology in the forefront and see to it that the others are obsolete.
Dr KingLove that. You know we were talking even before this podcast about India, because it's not just a country, as you were saying, that has a very large population, but also a country that has a very large young population. So can I ask what do you see? Where do you see the future for young people in India?
SirVacancheriIndia becomes, you know, a big workforce. In India labor is much comparatively cheaper than the West, so India can be seen as a big backend. That is what the US is doing right now. They are using a place like Bangalore for a backend of IT of many companies and they are paying far lesser than the amounts what are paid for an equal employee in the US. So that way they can utilize the workforce in a very big way because they get in boards, people who are equipped to handle certain backend activity. It backend is a very big thing.
SirVacancheriApart from that, from the medical force, there are a lot of nurses being supplied to all across the globe, and even the doctors. But nurses because they are the final end to the customer, to the patient. The doctor is more of instruction mode, whereas the nurse is the physically handling mode. So they need a lot of nurses and this again has gone after post-COVID. You know there is a lot of demand in, not just in any specific country but across the globe for nurses. Medical profession, yes. Healthcare yes. There's been a surge in manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, where they need a lot of young talent for research. So there is scope for everyone. There is no dirt for jobs. But finding the right type of job is how you are equipped enough to handle the job, and for that we need these additional things what I'm referring to and that I don't see any reason why they should be lifelong. There should be a surge in the employment sector, so that has been pictured in a very interesting way.
Dr KingThank you so much. This has been such a very quick and informative interview. Really appreciate it. Can you please tell people how they can, what you do and what you might be able to do for them, and how they can get in touch with you, and we'll be putting this also within the podcast information.
Belief-Based Support From Global Influencer
SirVacancheriThank you. The reason that I would suggest because, since I'm involved in multiple things like one is the global influencing factor, which is mainly into corporates and decision making and all that. I do a lot of mentoring One umbrella, I would say. Like a doctor, architect, a model, a beautician, anyone, for that matter, Anyone who's specified in arts, fashion or everyone comes under one wing with an entrepreneurial turn of mind.
SirVacancheriPeople with an entrepreneurial turn of mind are all very much in the business mode, so there also I do a lot of things. And then mentoring and then strategic advisory for people who need. I'm sector agnostic, so I don't go by the sector or anything. I go by people who believe in me. That is my first factor. If they believe in me, let them come to me. I'm there to help you. This is how my way of working is. I love it.
Dr KingAbsolutely love it. I want to thank you. It's wonderful to speak to a global influencer. I've learned so much and there's never enough time to cover everything. We would love for you to come back and have another interview, so thank you so much and thank you for our audience today we appreciate you being with us. Thank you, thank you.
SirVacancheriThank you very much thank you, sir.
