Episode 4 - At the Helm - Remission IS Possible With Dr. Mariela Glandt & Ajalah Efem
In this week’s episode of At the Helm, Dr. Charles Helm has a riveting and inspiring discussion about the transformative power of type 2 diabetes remission with Dr Mariela Glandt and her patient Ajalah Efem.
Dr. Glandt is a Harvard- and Columbia-trained endocrinologist with over 20 years experience in helping patients with metabolic health issues. Dr. Glandt is the founder of the Glandt Center for Diabetes Care in Tel Aviv, where she’s helped more than 4,000 patients with diabetes and obesity transform their health using ketogenic diets as a cornerstone of treatment.
Wanting to reach more patients, Dr. Glandt recently developed the online app, OWNAHEALTH, that is now revolutionizing diabetes care and bringing disease remission services to underserved communities, including people living in New York's South Bronx.
That is how she met, and helped, patient Ajalah Efem, a single mother who struggled with steadily worsening metabolic health for years. Ajalah tells her incredibly moving story of diabetes remission, weight loss and remarkable health transformation. Her story is both inspiring and eye opening.
